Hello everyone, does anyone know if a CLL diagnosed person can take meningitis and influenza vaccine?

Meningitis and influenza vaccines
Hi JA14,
Yes, we can have meningitis and influenza vaccines. You might like to consider other vaccinations as well. See this post

We don't get as much protection from vaccinations as other people would, but it's stlll worth getting them done. However, if you are on treatment at the moment, it might alter the situation.

Thanks, yes I am under treatment with I &V. I was sure if they are live.
Meningitis vaccine is not live, nor is the flu vaccine (the adult one that is injected). The children's flu vaccine that's a nasal spray IS live, but I doubt if you'd be offered that one!
With you having I &V treatment, best to discuss with your doctors. The vaccines might not be so effective during treatment, but I'm not sure.

Provided a vaccine is non-live, we can have it. That includes the flu vaccine, which is recommended annually. See this post for more information: healthunlocked.com/cllsuppo...
