Anyone heard about dopamine infusion directly in the brain?
I've read that in CHU in Lille in France, they have experienced with succès brain infusion of dopamine for Parkinson sufferers. Since RLS is also related with a lack of dopamine, I was wondering.... Maybe a way to look at?

Can’t sleep
I dunno why I can’t sleep ; took dopamine (I have YOPD), dopamine agonist to take care of RLS, magnesium to calm me down, warm shower , massaged my feet with lukewarm mustard oil, rubbed peppermint oil on pillow, put cucumbers on eyes but still can’t.. been three hours!

Tapering down Levodopa any advice ?
Hi I’m new here and London, UK based. I’m trying to wean off Sinemet (total dose per day 75/300) slowly and completely after taking it for 4 months (since diagnosis). I’ve had more intense non- motor symptoms (e.g. depression exhaustion) trying to come off than before I started the meds. I’m wondering

News that worried us and studies that gave us hope (04/2022).
This is the information that gave us hope while my father was alive and has given hope to many since then (March 2012). 1. News that worried us. In the coming decades the number of Parkinson's disease patients is feared to increase very worryingly, to double by 2030 (Dorsey 2007) and even to triple

Oral berberine improves brain dopa/dopamine levels to ameliorate Parkinson’s disease by regulating gut microbiota
EDIT March 17, 2024:
Today somebody shared a link to a two year old post of mine about a report on Berberine being neurotoxic and taking it off of my stack. Within a few months I found other information on Berberine and, using my High School educated brain, decided that Berberine definitely needed

How many with PD (have taken or does take) Tyrosine
In Dr. Sackner Bernstein presentation he mentioned Tyrosine producing Dopamine inside the cells. Made me wonder how many with PD (have taken or does take) Tyrosine. If he is right about too much dopamine in the cells being the cause, Tyrosine supplements should have a huge detrimental effect on PD. https

Is alpha synuclein aggregation an immune response?
My theory is that alpha synuclein aggregation is an immune response. If this is true, is attempts at removing the alpha synuclein aggregation akin to making the fire trucks leave the fire? Is the aggregation of alpha synuclein the bodies attempt to address or suppress the root cause? I found this

Thank you to Dr. Jonathan Sackner-Bernstein for his excellent, thought-provoking presentation yesterday titled "What if I discovered the Silver Bullet?" Motivated by a friend’s suffering from Parkinson’s, Dr. Sackner-Bernstein focused on a gap in our understanding of the disease: no one had so far measured

Tramadol Tolerance
I have had severe RLS for over 10 years, was initially on dopamine agonists (until I augmented!) and been on Tramadol (100mg/day) plus Gabapentin (1200mg/day) for over 8 years. My Ferritin level is usually about 75 so I am currently trying to raise it. I tried Bisglycinate for 3 months without any improvement

Experiment
I never smoked--never!--but was trying the patch to see whether it might help cognitive function. I tried the stop-smoking patch but quit because the odor/taste was irritating. But I tried it again and there was no odor. The ingredient list includes ethanol, camphor and spice. Any of those

Calcitriol protection against dopamine loss (2006). Where is this now?
https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/16758362/ Calcitriol is best used for PD because it is the active form of the vitamin D(3) metabolite and modulates inflammatory cytokine expression. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/22930493/
