One journey complete. The best chapter has just begun!
So it’s been a year now since I really embarked on my journey into self improvement. I started going to doctors, was diagnosed with adult adhd, and started on vyvanse in February of last year. Since then, I have lost 100lbs and got myself lean and fit. I eat properly, and have found that I feel better

Eliminating Sinemet
I'm 75 years old and was first diagnosed with PD by a neurologist about 15 years ago. At that time the only symptoms I remember having were that I sometimes stepped a little bit funny, and I didn't swing my arms when I walked. Anyway, the doc immediately prescribed 3 Sinemets per day, with which I complied

Dopamine
Hi everyone.. I'd like to share my findings..it might help. Having suffered with restless legs for a few years...I'm forever looking for advice..cure..help etc. I've been doctors few times who concluded it was low ferritin levels.. I presume this is low brain iron.? Then while reading about dopamine.

End of ropinerole
Just thought I would mention this see a copy of the article below On Dec. 19 the U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced the forthcoming discontinuation of all dosage strengths of ropinirole hydrochloride (Requip) tablets as well as the 2-mg extended release (Requip XL) tablets. The anticipated final

Dopamine wake-up call anyone?
I’m a PD warrior on C/L who can sleep fine as long as the l-dopa is where it needs to be. That means a dose before bed and then 3- 4 hours later a “wake-up” call for another dose. Yes, I just wake up just like that, and if I wait long enough RLS will kick in. A dose then will get me down for the rest

Two different Parkinsons
Parkinson is an extremely complex disease but broadly speaking it is categorised into tremor dominant and rigidity dominant. But the 2 have very fundamental and philosophical differences. As someone with tremor dominant PD, I know stress and anxiety is a core backbone of the disease. From comments

L-Tyrosine
Hi everyone, I have been given the name of this amino acid as a suggestion for use for my RL. Does anyone know of treatment with this and if so, any comments? I believe L-Tyrosine is a precursor to dopamine.

Too much Sinemet
First off, if you've seen one case of Parkinson's, you've seen one case of Parkinson's. In my wife's case, she experienced overdosing on Sinemet. She started by taking Mirapex when she was first diagnosed about 5 years ago. Even a small dosage was putting her to sleep for long periods of time. Her

Ginkgo Biloba for RLS
I took 60 mg of Ginkgo Biloba in the middle of awful sleepless night and slept like a baby till morning. Manufacturer: Jarrow Formulas from iherb.com. It was the very first time when I took Ginkgo in the middle of the night. Before I only used it during daytime and the same 60 mg gave me a headache.

Update. Itching. Kidney Cancer but no connection.
Hello friends. On Friday I went to see the kidney specialist who said there was a cancerous lump on my kidney but said there was no connection with the awful skin itching I have had for the last twelve months. In a couple of days I am going to have a neck to hip MRI so that he can see more details.

Medical Alert Card for RLS
I’ve just received my membership pack from RLS foundation in the USA and the medical alert card is really useful. It contains a list of meds that worsen RLS (including Dopamine Agonists) and lists safe alternatives. I’ve attached photo below as it’s a great tool. I think our UK help forum is much easier

What's working for me, at least sort of
I say "at least sort of" because it's a case of nightly trial and error. But here's what I'm pinning my hopes on right now: 2 hours before I hope to go to sleep, I take a 100 mg capsule of medicinal grade CBD, along with 1 capsule of L-Theanine (I'm unsure of the mg.) and a 400 mg. tablet of magnesium

Household Mold as one possible cause of parkinsonism

The journey of Levodopa inside the intestine.
In his blog of 9 February "BAC for the future", Simon of Science of Parkinson's remembers that Levodopa is converted into Dopamine by an enzyme called Decarboxylase DOPA. He also says that outside the brain there is a lot of decarboxylase dopa in other organs of the body, so there is a risk that Levodopa

Possible cause of Parkinson's
My brother had a bad breath problem for several years before being diagnosed with PD. He has always taken excellent care of his mouth, so it is not that...verified by his dentist. I'm just wondering if it could have been a gut flora problem, which I read recently might be linked to the death of dopamine
