“Eliminate foods that increase histamines such as fermented foods (soy sauce, sauerkraut and vinegar, for example).” A recent Stanford study showed that fermented foods increase gut diversity whereas fiber rich foods did not.
It also stated that cysteine increases glutamate Excitotoxicity. Interesting.
Interesting that the article states that you shouldn’t supplement with GABA because it can convert to glutamate (this is why I’m fearful that the very high dose melatonin frequently posted about could have adverse effects)
Also it was mentioned to not supplement with D3 because it increases calcium. I think that is incorrect. I think D3 does not increase calcium but increases its absorption. Is that Neuroprotective? I think it might be.
“Some of the effects of vitamin D deficiency that will be discussed include the development of dementia caused by the increase of cerebral soluble and insoluble amyloid-β (Aβ) peptides and a decrease of its anti-inflammatory/antioxidant properties, the link to depression by a reduction of the buffering of increased calcium in the brain, and vitamin D deficiency”
it seems that nutrition support would be very useful forPwP's, eh?
Unknowingly, I've been consuming lots of glutamates lately
and my balance has gotten really bad.. I cannot walk at all without assistance.
is this due to the high consumption of the glutamates? who knows..
I've tried to find a list of foods that contain glutamates and have been unsuccessful = if anyone has such lists, i will appreciate having them posted here.
I also looked for something to counteract the effects of too much glutamates and found lemon balm, chamomile and i forget the other. i only have lemon grass so thought i'd give it a try... my luck and lemon grass is high in glutamates
I have been researching glutamates too, and found that it is in almost EVERYTHING we eat ! I've learned that to reduce glutamate one needs to adopt a gluten free diet.PS..Have you tried B1 for mobility ?
I used B1 VERY successfully for several months
last year. Had to stop for about a week because I ran out. when I started back up, B1 no longer
worked. I'm reading:
Parkinson's and the B1 Therapy
Daphne Bryan PhD
to learn what i did not know... haven't found it yet
what do you know about B1 therapy?
My balance is almost gone at the moment and
it's scaring me. I'm not ready to be wheelchair
bound
Ha ! I just got her book too ! The anecdotal note of PWP's at the end was helpful. What's your current dose ? Getting the right dose is so hard. Have you tried Magnesium theonate with it ?
What is significant about magnesium l-threonate?
How is it different from other versions of ?
How about this book: Healing Parkinson’s disease: A Cure That Has a 91% Success Rate Kindle Edition
