GCA and type 2 diabetes
Hi all Warriors Since being on prednisone (since July 2023 at 60mg, now at l6mg) my A1C has slowly crept up. Had blood work yesterday and A1C is now at 7.1. I have been told by my rheumy this is steroid induced and will start going down as I taper. Even though I have been tapering by 1mg every 2

2024 is the year to change
I’ve been overweight for most of my life. I was bullied because of it at school and have always felt out of place and self conscious. I have type two diabetes and hope that losing weight will help me. I want to lose 33 pounds. My aim is to achieve this by the end of June.

Noo shoos!
Having looked into these shoes that Frizzbomb67 asked about, I decided to order the support version, Brookes Launch GTS. They arrived quickly, and included a free pair of running socks! When I first tried them on I thought they were awful, really stiff and solid, like putting a cardboard box on my feet

glucose in urine
have done a urine dipstick test and it shows positive for glucose. I’m a bit worried and will ring gp but could this be a sign of liver disease and diabetes?

Metoject pens with Methotrexate
I have had 17.5mg of Methotrexate injected into my thigh once weekly with a Metoject Pen since January this year. Virtually ALL have had a problem with the safety release not working without the pen being tapped repeatedly on a hard surface. Too many have somehow leaked liquid onto my leg as well as

diabetes doctors
Even though disappointing for those with thyroid issues, I had hoped, and actually was under the impression, that at least endos were good diabetes doctors. It seems that I have to rethink that as well. I have a colleague with Type 1 Diabetes who had some horror stories to tell. And he is the second

Venetoclax and blood sugar
hi everyone, I have been on “V” since the end of last August. In the last five months, I’ve been experiencing severe hypoglycemic attacks: however, my blood sugar is in dropping below 70. my doctor (endocrinologist, who im not happy with) put a blood sugar monitor on me for a week and said no worries

does an rls friendly diuretic exist?
I have bad swollen legs which my GP thinks is caused by excess fluid It probably comes from a combination of my RLS medicines ( Pregabalin 250 mg and 2mg Neupro patch) plus a recent knee replacement operation. To get rid of this excess fluid my GP upped my normal 50mg Spironolactone dose to 75 mg.

Jardiance side effects? Off Metformin for diabetes 2, but high blood sugar 88, overweight, aged 67, scared reactions due other conditions?
Am terminally ill, irreparable brain damage, epilepsy, so can't do much exercise! Was on metformin from start of diabetes 2 in 2020, found my blood sugar level was 88, have been dieting lost 2 half stone, cholesterol not too bad, so they have put me on just Jardiance 10mg a day! Am taking medication

Prof Tim Noakes and low carb diet benefits
I hope it's ok to attach a link to this Q&A session - it's clarified a lot for me and low carb is how I reduced my blood sugar when I was in the pre-diabetic range. He also explains that diabetes is a more serious disease than people believe. I found it very interesting. https://www.facebook.com/thenoakesfoundation

How Coeliac, Non-Coeliac Gluten Sensitivity (NCGS) and Wheat Sensitivity can impact ONE person on a PsychoSocial Scale !!
It says it all really. Today, I spoke to someone else who is gluten sensitive. They told me about the difficulties of having to explain themselves to others. I quipped, ‘I don’t like your cooking,’ as a cheeky answer. They chuckled. All of the above are very difficult and poorly understood illnesses

Atorvastatin and Ibrutinib?
I asked the group about a month ago if it was OK to take Atorvastatin and Ibrutinib, several members came back and said they have been on the combination. However, my Haematologist has advised and I quote: "There may be an interaction and should not be given to prevent high cholesterol and if your
