Blood sugar
Because of a lung condition I was given prednisolone. This mademe put on weight and i have now been diagnosedwith diabetes 2. My blood suga r is raised. And neither weight nor blood sugar goes down on medication or with low carb diet and exercise. Wits end. Any advice? Thank you.

Diuretics or Paracentesis
Hello, I am curious to know if anyone has experience of lowering tense (6-9ltr) ascites through diuretic and bringing it under control. And if yes, how long it took and which diuretic/dosage was used. My father is currently on Torsemide 10MG once a day only and he has tense ascites (I guess about 7ltrs

Interesting observation of Fasting Blood Sugar(FBS)
Couple of days ago, i took FBS reading in my glucometer before and after going to toilet in the morning. Surprisingly, both of these readings were exactly the same. It was 102 mg/dL. Couple of years ago, when i was initially diagnosed T2D, i took similar readings. Before going to toilet, FBS was 159

Popular hypertension drugs don't increase risk of COVID-19 severity, fatality.
A new Northwestern Medicine study in mice found a widely used class of drugs to treat patients with hypertension, cardiovascular disease and diabetic kidney disease — many of whom are elderly — does not increase the risk of developing a severe and potentially fatal COVID-19 infection, as previously feared

Difference between type 1 vs type 2 Diabetes.
An informative article published today in difference between type1 and type 2 Diabetes. But what the article does not discuss is the fact that Type 2's at some point of time may have to take insulin since the beta cells stop producing insulin..... However, this can be avoided or prevented if the person

Oh no!!! Allergic to wk9😩
I’ve hit a massive wall. I attempted wk9 run1 on Saturday and had to stop after 20 minutes as I just had nothing left. I wasn’t too concerned as I’d had a diabetic hypo a couple of hours earlier so it probably wasn’t a good idea to go out anyway. So, off I went this morning with a positive mental

I have a serious sugar addiction and I need to give it up. Help!
Okay so I'm 22 nearly 23. Ever since I was about 15 I started getting addicted to sugar. Over the years it's gotten worse and worse. I'm not even comfortable typing how much I consume daily because I'm too embarrassed by it. Lets just say I'm amazed I haven't gotten diabetes yet or any other serious

What a stress buster!
After a really busy few weeks at work and a particularly stressful day yesterday I decided to take a couple of hours out this morning to do W9 R1 somewhere nice. I’ll make the hours up over the rest of the week and more I’m sure! Within seconds I was focused on putting one foot in front of the other,

Newbie post - unexplained prediabetes.
For over two years I have had prediabetic HbA1c test results, creeping upwards from 43mmol/mol in a routine test in May 2018 to 47 at the last test (just before lockdown in March). 48 will indicate diabetes. After the first test result I bought a blood glucose monitor and, whilst, thoroughly researching

Interesting article about the effects of fasting.
https://nationalpost.com/health/fasting-for-three-days-renews-entire-immune-system-protects-cancer-patients-remarkable-new-study-finds I came across this article regarding fasting. It sounds too good to be true, but... I am inclined to go ahead and give it a try. Perhaps closer to my next CBC check,

I have some way to go but am confident I can hit a healthy BMI before the end of the year. In Aug 20 I decided to take up C25K to help with my fight against diabetes - I really want
