Heart
Thank you to all who responded. I went to the cardiologist today and she put a heart monitor on me today. In a week I have to mail it and she will get the results. She also put me on diuretic, hoping my swelling will go away. She scheduled an ultrasound of my legs and ankles. Thanks for all your support

CGA and urogram
Hi All good advisers. Have been on pred for CGA since July 2023, starting at 60mg. now at 12 mg with very slow taper. I am having a kidney urogram this April. I am also on metformin 3 x daily 500 mg. I have read that I should stop taking metformin before this procedure. How many days before should

Starting fresh - probiotics
Hello people. I recently became disillusioned with the supplements I was taking. It came about because I restarted berberine after a three month break. My normal brand, renew by science, have doubled their strength, and within a day or two I was finding I was ridiculously tired, like I'd run a marathon

Fluid build up
My partner is scheduled for a Cardioversion no fixed date but should be 6 days after preliminary appointment which is on 13/3/24. He has a lot of fluid building up in his legs and probably elsewhere. My question is does anyone know if having fluid will stop the Cardioversion from going ahead. Both

kidney functioning @33 percent
I just got back from my doctor. My kidney function has been teetering from 33-36 every three months. my potassium has been low several times. My blood pressure 134/82. But I feel terrible! I may be depressed or scared I am going to die. I take trimeterine which has a diuretic but I talk half of 37.5

Diuretics
I was prescribed spironolactone a potassium sparing diuretic by the Cardiologist because I was concerned about my swollen feet - I do not have cardiac failure, in fact the final paragraph of the Cardiologist's report to my GP after a full examination including echo, a few months ago, says that' from

Steroid induced diabetes
I haven't seen too much about steroid induced diabetes. I was diagnosed with diabetes shortly after being put on Prednisone for PMR. It definitely changed my eating habits but I was able to control it with few carbs and more exercise. I was told that it might clear out as I taper off the steroids.

Does anyone take a diuretic to help with water retention?
I have for many years suffered from painful water retention in my buttocks and legs. I am also unable to pinch the skin on my upper arms. Ive recently been prescribed a diuretic to see if this will help. Do others have a similar issue? Or is it a sign that I’m still under medicated? My legs are painful

For the first four years I managed to control it by diet only but since I was diagnosed with PMR in August 2020 my diabetes has got worse year on year. I was initially put on Metformin

Neuromodulation for PD “Glove ++” : Trials | Observations | Tips | # 2
Some notes on the 'gloves ' aspects and the challenges I've encountered from the ' pool' of Trial Participants. No doubt that in terms of ease of use , acceptance , ' benefits ' , detectable changes / differences - a PWP is first , MSA++ 2nd but PWP & LB ( even min severity ) is very challenging

I am now back on 15 mil of Metx injection with 20m Pred. followed by folic acid 2 days later.and all seems to be going well and not affecting my blood sugar levels so badly. My B12 was very low so also had a course of injections it seems to be a fine balance between blood pressure, blood sugar levels

I am in the US and cardio specialist who is also a lipid specialist is confused due to so much conflicting info for people with PBC and cholesterol. My LDL is high, so is my HDL and my Triglycerides are normal. I don't have any heart

Hypothyroid for 18 years. Discovered high cholesterol recently. Can I start using plant sterols alongside Thyroxine??
Also have tried increasing thyroxine (temporarily) for 3 months, to see if cholesterol results come down. They have come down from 8.9 to 7.5 in that 3 months. Not low enough I know, but it has reduced it. Trying my best not to be put on statins if I possibly can, or BP meds. Has anyone tried Plant

Taking Blood Sample (Help)
I recently took a blood sample for Monitor My Health - just to get my vitamin D done . I made a complete mess of it - (I should have used the simple method of the drops of blood on the card using another company but completely forgot about it). Something happened my blood in the process and they

Hubby and his heart
My husband had bad flu over Christmas and since then has had huge issues with breathlessness, bloating, fluid retention and fatigue. He's had ECG's, MRI , chest x-ray and bloods. This has shown up that he has fluid around his heart as it's just not pumping properly, is severely anaemic and his vitamin
