For Sue J
Hi Sue, I wonder if you would read over the post from Fingerandus. She had contacted me apart from this and had told me she was on a diuretic amongst other things. I wondered if you might pick up on the post and perhaps advise her but obviously you have not seen it. Good Wishes

Any advice on tapering prednisolone with Methotrexate and RoActemra?
hello...would be grateful for words of wisdom and experience. Feeling confused on how to manage steroid reduction. Started Methotrexate 5 weeks ago and 3rd RoActemra injection tomorrow. Was told to reduce steroids from a high of 55mg at 5mg/week back in May. Am now on 20mg, reducing to 15mg on this

Neuropathy with PD
Has anyone had "neuropathy," in hands/legs? Over the last few weeks I have noticed numbness and tingling. Here we go....another "thing" to deal with. Good ol' PD.

Private Rheumatologist Consultation
Would anyone have recommendation on private rheumatologist close to Falmouth? My next NHS rheumatologist appointment is in Aug. I need to see rheumatologist for my painful feet, hands and jaw. I went to see the local GP about my pain, but they're unable to prescribe medication to relieve the swelling

Tapering well so far.
Down to 8 mgs methylpred. No probs so far. Going down to 6 tomorrow. I realize that this is more of a drop than recommended. I can raise and use both arms and hips haven’t frozen. Can sleep. Also, good news on queasiness from diabetes meds. Changed to Mounjaro from Ozempic. Queasiness less

Sitagliptin
Has anyone ever been prescribed sitagliptin for recurrent implantation failure? I had a biopsy in Coventry (Dr Brosens) as we’ve had 3 failed transfers with top embryos and it has shown results which are more in keeping with recurrent miscarriages (which I’ve never had, never had a positive test) rather

Awful Fibrillation
thanks all who have replied I have not seen a Cardiologist face to face for three years , just phone calls spasmodically. You cannot get to see a GP here in Bristol either The last call I was told I should up my Dosage of Bisoprolol to 15mg as my legs are retaining water and I am poor on balance .

fast heart rate but normal blood pressure
hi there! My 69 yo mum has been in hospital for the last week as her heart rate is too fast (roughly 117) she had a bit of swelling too which is now going down thanks to a diuretic. Her BP and oxygen levels are normal but all the medication they’re giving her to reduce the heart rate is causing the heart

Triglycerides
I’m very pleased to say my total cholesterol has gone from 6.4 to 4.6 from March this year to August. I worked hard with diet mainly and exercise. However my triglycerides weren’t included in this blood test. Has anyone found that due to their thyroid problems that their triglycerides are raised?

Horizant
After pregabalin and gabapentin both made me nervous (I successfully tolerated the pregabalin for years, with daytime sedation however). Codeine also seems to be waking me up instead of sedating me. Doctor is suggesting trying Horizant. I know it is for people who experience symptoms all day, but

weight gain and elevated blood glucose level on venetoclax treatment
I am a half way through on V treatment and my blood numbers and spleen size. are already in a normal range. But my blood glucose level became elevated from below 100 to 150. I also have high blood pressure , resulting in a stroke . I appreciate you sharing information or expirience on those symptoms

Fasting blood test query
I’ve been asked to book a fasting blood test next week. It’s at 10.00am. I take it this is a 12 hour fast. Do I take meds first thing as usual with water? Currently take enteric coated pred with a spoonful of yoghurt, then edoxaban and Bisoprolal after breakfast. Can’t get an answer from the receptionist

EMG test
Hello all I hope you are doing the best you can. I have received a letter from Sheffield Hallam today and I’m being booked in for an EMG has anyone had this and do the results reflect your symptoms and how you feel with your type of ataxia. It’s a long waiting list so I have to be a good patient 🤨.
