next Friday I will have a PSMA PTscan , which I failed because lie straight on the table due to pain. Lately, with the doctor it has been decided to cut the pain meds. Removed patches, pills down. Ok! Tried to lie down straight and I couldn’t do it!? What can be done in order to get me ready for the diagnostic for the Pluvitco, last chance for months or so of life depending on so many factors. Anesthesia? Local! To knock me out? Please, please help!

Desperate for help

Will Dr. let you use Cannabis? Mine does
Can you ask for pillows?
Have someone drive you there but hit the booze first.
Here's some advice from the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute:
It is important that you be as comfortable and relaxed as possible prior to and during the PET or PET/CT scan. You can take medications such as Valium, Ativan, or pain medications to lessen any anxiety or discomfort you may have. Please talk with your physician if you are taking medication for relaxation or need information. (NOTE: If you will be taking any of the above medications before your scan, plan to have someone drive you home).
I saw this on a different post:Sorry to hear you are experiencing these issues. I do have occasional breathing issues whilst lying on my back, especially when I have spine pain, for scans they elevate my head a few inches and that seems to help. The radiologists I go to for scans sets aside one day a week for patients that need to be sedated to complete the scan. This may help?
So it sounds from this post that some hospitals do sedate people in order to obtain a scan.
Techs must figure it out!!!
