Has anyone ever been prescribed sitagliptin for recurrent implantation failure?
I had a biopsy in Coventry (Dr Brosens) as we’ve had 3 failed transfers with top embryos and it has shown results which are more in keeping with recurrent miscarriages (which I’ve never had, never had a positive test) rather than implantation failure. He has advised sitagliptin for 3 months before next embryo transfer but this is based on trials on women with recurrent miscarriages rather than failed implantation so I’m not optimistic that it will work😢 just wondering if anyone has had similar results & been prescribed sitagliptin, and any success with this treatment? Any stories positive or negative are welcomed!

Hi lovely, I had similar results to you (after 5 blastocyst fails), I tried sitagliptin for 3 months and had 2 further transfers of euploid blastocysts - early chemicals with both. So no success unfortunately. He did say it's very experimental and not much evidence yet, but I figured there was no harm in doing it. Best of luck to you xxx
Thanks for replying, so sorry it didn’t work out for you. So frustrating to have results which don’t seem to fit with our history & with no proven treatment option. I’m not feeling optimistic but at the same time willing to try anything that gives a bit of hope 🙏🏼 good luck in your journey too xxx
Hey! I had my nk cells tested at Coventry before they started offering stigliptin as a treatment option. If you don’t mind me asking, in what were your results? Did they indicate high or low nk cells? Or is there more to this test now? I only ask as I have had no success with the steroids that were prescribed to me last time & I’m wondering if it’s worth getting back in touch with Prof Brosens for a retest. Xxx
Hi! So my nk cells were normal, this was a different part of the test that was abnormal - my understanding is that I have ‘plenty’ of cells which aid implantation but my womb lining is prone to breakdown so isn’t robust enough to sustain a pregnancy. The sitagliptin has been shown to improve the robustness of the lining therefore could potentially improve the chances of ongoing pregnancy. I’ve never had implantation though so not sure whether the sitagliptin will help, praying it will somehow 🙏🏼 it does sound like there’s more to the test now than you had before so might be worth a go. If you have a look on their website it breaks down the test into 3 parts which helps to explain it far better than me! Xxx
Hi, I know your post is over a year old, I am suffering the same and now taking Sitagliptin. I did read mixed results, it’s our last try after four failed implantations.
Hi there, sadly it didn’t work for us but we have since found out my partner has high fragmentation so they feel that could have also been contributing to previous embryo/implantation failures. I hope it works out for you 🙏🏼🤞🏼
Dear Am93, so sad to read this response. It’s also case my hubby has fragmentation as well, apparently there should be enough to make a good embryo. It is very hard to confront all variables. I hope you are both okay 🙏
I follow a girl on Tik Tok who took this and it worked naturally for her (after 6 or so losses). She was going to start IVF after the 3 months but got pregnant after the 1st month of trying it (and hit viability the other day). Who knows if it made a difference or not but it sounded promising! Fingers crossed it works for you!! xx
Thanks for replying, that’s an amazing story and gives me some hope! Sadly natural is very unlikely for us due to severe male factor but hopefully will have the same effect for us with icsi 🙏🏼🤞🏼 thank you so much! Xxx
