angioplasty
I am 66 I am going for an angioplasty on the 27th November with the possibility of a stent in LAD. Very nervous. I have had LBBB since in my early 30’s so always got a slight tight chest on hills, i had an angiogram in 2012 and an MRI I was put on Bisoprolol, statins and ramipril after this. Dosage reduced

Real-time measurement of glucose as a proxy for levodopa concentration?
Goud et al. write [1]: "because dose optimization is currently based on patients’ report of symptoms, which are difficult for patients to describe, the management of PD is challenging. We report on a microneedle sensing platform for continuous minimally invasive orthogonal electrochemical monitoring

Continuous glucose monitor
Has anyone tried using a continuous glucose monitor? Or been part of the Zoe project? I'm interested to hear of your findings and whether you found it beneficial. Many thanks.

CGM - Continuous Glucose Monitors
I’m seeing a lot of advertisements for using CGM for improving health. With the role glucose plays on liver health I wondered if anyone has used these devices to keep track of the impact foods and lifestyle has in their condition. And if so did you find it helpful?

Stress-Mediated Abnormalities in Regional Myocardial Wall Motion in Young Women with a History of Psychological Trauma
Just noticed this - and with Johannes W. Dietrich in particular as an author - it looked very much worth posting about. The title doesn't give much away but it is very much on-topic for thyroid - when you read it. (Mind, I admit I have only managed the abstract for now. :-) ) The idea that this might

Atypical muscle aches?
Hi again everyone, I am really struggling to answer something and am hoping some of you might be able to help. Basically, I am on 7 mg pred, and I have mild muscle soreness in my shoulders and thighs. My rheumys don't not think it is PMR inflammation. They think it's either pred withdrawal, AI, or

Now down to 1/2 mg Pred. Feeling good.
Been on 1/2 for 3 days with no ill effects. Have lots of energy. Seem to have lost the need for prednisone. Still on Methotrexate 12.5 weekly and daily hydroxychloroquine. My glucose levels are back to what they were before PMR. Question is can I reduce Meth? At some point likely won't need any. At

Tests required after more troubles with thyroxine
Hello, I’m after a bit of advice re blood tests. Long story short, in 2019 it appeared that thyroxine was actually making me gain weight (a stone and a half in a short space of time) while diet and exercise remained the same. I had battled with thyroxine for around 20 years at this point do I decided

Possible GCA and Treatment Questions
I have been diagnosed with PMR for 4 years and have been on prednisone the whole time. I have learned to reduce slowly because I will flare if I move too quickly. Recently I have been on 2mg a day for the last 6 months feeling good and ready to move to a lower mg. I am an active 69 yr old and walk

Low Estradiol and low Iron - is it Thyroid?
Hi all, I have been on 2.375 grains of Armour and 2.5 T3 since May and my results are: Ft4 33% Ft3 75% 24 hours after meds since Armour is slower release. I don't tolerate Armour in its own, tried everything from 3 to 2.25 grains. Iron 49 (50-180) Estradiol 12 (21-280) checked 4th day of cycle FSH
