Celebrex and Curcumin and Magnesium.

I recently received a question from a fellow warrior based on a comment I had made on an older post that he had started. The question was what I thought about Naproxen compered to Celebrex and I told him I had very limited experience with Naproxen. I then clicked on older posts about nsaids and prostate cancer and found some interesting info so I’ll give you my personal regimen that I use, the reasons and the results in the hope that it peaks some interest. First of all these are my results and not a suggestion to try without first researching and then consulting your doctor. I have suffered with degenerative discs since 1990 and know all to well the pain it can cause. When my OS said I’d have to take NSAIDs the rest of my life 3 years ago and recommended Celebrex because it doesn’t block the cox 1 enzyme I decided to research it to see if it was detrimental to my battle with Pca. When I googled Celebrex and Pca the search engine added curcumin. It seems that the combo may delay progression to castrate resistance. The down side, liver, kidney and heart issues. I take 200mg of celocoxib twice a day. I take curcumin and magnesium to buffer effects on heart. 2800mg of Celebrex and 400 mg of magnesium. The magnesium and the 10 mg of zinc along with 72 ounces on non caffeinated liquids helps prevent kidney stones. Curcumin is high in oxylates which can cause kidney stones. The magnesium helps to regulate blood pressure as well as heartbeat and helps fend of osteoporosis. The curcumin also helps regulate blood pressure. I get a Lupron shot monthly and take low dose Abi with a low fat breakfast. No Xgeva. The results. Psa 5664 to 1.02. Liver enzymes normal. Kidney flow rate went from 89 to117.5. APL from 262 to 64. No edema. Bp runs around 135 over 80. Normal BMD. Bilirubin went from 1.8 to .5. Totally pain free most of the time, if I overdo it my back will let me know. Normal lipids and a normal glucose. I take 20 mg of atorvastatin which I just started when I started adt. No libido at all. Some weight gain. Energy pretty good for a guy going on 74. This has been a long road and I must give credit to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for the strength to endure and answer to prayers. We embarked on this journey almost 24 years ago. I hope this can be an inspiration to someone. God bless.

will check this about Celebrex. I take it everyday, and the side effects aren't the greatest. Anything I can do to make it a little better I am all for.

I always take my Celebrex with curcumin and some fatty food. My go to food with curcumin is nuts as the fat aids in absorption and studies have shown that while eating tree nuts doesn’t prevent Pca, those with Pca that eat tree nuts at least five times a weed have a 34% lower mortality rate than those that eat nuts less than once a month. God bless.

Wild ride. Sounds like you have a tumor that caused PSA rise. Lupron is doing its job, but you need to get PSA down to >0.1. If you knew the tumor location you might try to kill it. You're doing real fine.

Thanks. Not a tumor, Mets to spine, pelvis, femurs and lungs. Not sure how far it will come down since my prostate is intact. No surgery or radiation.

Wow! Did you do only ADT and supplements / repurposed drugs?

Yes. Lupron till Psa started climbing and then abiraterone was added with prednisone. The supplements are mainly for adt side effects. The Celebrex if for arthritis and back issues but the combo of Celebrex and curcumin shows promise in Pca patients.
