Blood pressure drop

Hi all

After about five months of injecting every other day, my B12 level tested at 4694 (180-914). My doctor has decreased my B12 to twice a month.

I have decreased to every four days on one occasion. I had an iron level of 44 (50-170) and Iron Saturation of 13% (20-55 %), Ferritin 16 (8-252). I had two Fereheme infusions, one last Thursday, and one yesterday, (Monday here).

I always have low blood pressure, usually 100/60, but last Thursday and yesterday it was 95/56.

I have had a couple of very sleepless nights, and more neuropathic pain. my last blood test showed a total protein of 6.0 (6.1-8.2), Globulin 2.1 (2.4-4.2), and Alk Phos of 35 (38-150). The last may be caused by taking Prolia shots for osteoporosis.

Any ideas about what is going on?

My primary is not concerned about this, any ideas or advice?

Could decreasing B12 explain the blood pressure issue?

Thanks, Sita

To keep well, I have needed to inject 1mg hydroxocobalamin every day. I have been doing this now for eight years, without any effect on my BP, as far as I know. That is not to say someone else might be affected, but I would be surprised if it had anything to do with it.

Concerning your other blood results, I can only urge you to get further medical opinion, with another doctor, and request a consultation with a haematologist. Then if no answer, find another.

Keep at it!

Best wishes

Thanks Dollery. My hematologist did order iron infusions. When he tested my B12 it was 472 and he doesn’t agree with B12 injections when it is that high. I am waiting on my primary, she is resistant to continuing the SI. The doctors have all the power! It is very frustrating!
