Hi all, Thank you for creating such an informative and supporting PA community here! I wonder if anyone can weigh in on my scenario please. I’m new here so apologise for long initial post.... Diet related b12 deficiency
Hi All I have diet related b12 deficiency (I have a vegetarian/vegan diet and knew nothing about b12 until I became ill) and have had pretty serious problems caused by it and I am still having neurological problems which I have voiced regularly on this site. I was reading the NHS site today and came

Does anyone know what ferritin levels are okay for treating hashis?
Hi everyone, Really trying to get a handle on my health this year, so am going to try to ask my gp for iron supplements. My ferritin level was 25 in November (it was 15 the previous year and 5 when it was first taken, the year before that). So it goes up by about 5 points a year. I currently take Solgar

DBS Neuropsychiatric evaluation pretest
Can anyone please shed some light on what is involved in the 4-Hour Neuropsychiatric pretest evaluation? I'm scheduled for DBS surgery on the 28th of February. I'm not a great test taker and I'm worried.

Iron levels and starting NDT
Long story short I switched to NDT last July after being on Levo for 9 months (most likely I've been hypo for about 8 past years but not diagnosed). I did well on NDT at first but then got worse when trying to raise, so I checked my cortisol (got low-low-low-high) and iron panel (very low, serum iron

What the Hell is going on here? Norfolk's Endo's won't even see my wife for her Hashi's "Can't/Won't do anything" Outrageous!
I had blood tests last September which confirms I have auto-immune thyroiditis (Hashimoto’s). Plus other issues which may be drug interaction related. I asked for a referral to the local NHS Endocrinologists (Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital and was given a Choose and Book set up where there were

Can certain probiotics increase dopamine
This is intriguing because the one thing people with RLS and Parkinson’s disease is low dopamine. I wonder if taking these probiotics could help increase dopamine. “This has sparked the idea that we might be able to improve the symptoms if we change the microbiome through diet or other ways … People

Boston Scientific VS Medtronic DBS
I’m curious if there’s anyone that has had their Medtronic unit replaced with a Boston Scientific. If so, what are your impressions and experiences.

Moved to new condo, he is falling everywhere
Hi, it’s been a while since I’ve been here. Tuesday Jan 22, my husband had his neuro appointment checkup. They upped his DBS devices to 3.7 & 3.9. Doctor said he seemed he was doing a bit better. I bought him the Parkinson’s walker, with the laser. Hand grips to release wheels. It’s been helping him

Feeling poorly.
Feel so unwell, I have finally found a pharmacy that stocks North Star levothyroxine, as Teva, Actavis simply don't suit me. When I spoke to the pharmacist at Boots she produced a brand called Almus or something along those lines. All good until she checked the information leaflet and we were both shocked

B12 causing yeast infection?
Hello 😊 I’ve recently been diagnosed with pernicious anaemia and been having injections weekly for a month and now just monthly. I’m just wondering if anyone can see a trend between vaginal yeast infections and the use of b12. Mine is quite bad to the point where tissue is ripping and I’d like to know

Having DBS done?
I was wondering if anyone out there has had DBS. My doctor says nows the time for me to get it, and I would like to talk to other people who have had it done, and have they had a bad side effects from it. I live in Chicago and am thinking about going to RUSH hospital. Any info would be helpful. Thanks

nature throid ineffective
Hi all-Curious if anyone else has had problems with nature throid (1 grain) this past year. I did seem to do better on armour but they are supposed to be the same. Could just be me but my tsh went up, t3 went down after being stable for several months. Tried Tirosint 112 mcg recently and gained 5 pounds

Please can I have some help with blood tests
I have looked at the graph for over 15 years posted patient access. It’s the first time I have got into normal range for second 3 things. I have introduced T3 and been gluton free for 1 year. My belief is that is the reason, blessings because of this forum , White count. 3.89. Range.
