Why did my IGHV test not run

Hello, disappointed today, my IGHV test did not run, having little sleep last night thinking about the results. So now they will do the test again. However I am anemic, now given iron tablets from my hospital. My white blood cells have almost doubled in 8 weeks. Go back for the full results just before Christmas. 🤨

My best guess would be lab error. I have had a couple of tests not run for that reason. It's frustrating when it happens. You don't say how high your WBC is (following your Absolute lymphocyte count is a better measure of progression). Doubling time is not really considered until the ALC is over 30,000.

How low is your hemoglobin (HGB?) How high, or how low is what you want to follow, as well as trends, with your counts.

I am not so clued up on numbers, I think next time I will go by myself. Find out more information before I go. But thanks for replying. Yes it is disappointing when results don’t materialise.

Ask for copies of your labs when you go, and take a recording device, or use a cell phone app. What you don't understand you can ask about later.
