Our virtual pub took place today. I believe everybody enjoyed it. Next Sunday, 9/27, 2nd HU virtual gathering @ 5 PM London time.
50+ people gave me their email addresses. 25 people plugged in. We got to introduce ourselves and put a face to the name. Zoom has 4 breakout rooms. In order to allow more substantive conversation, next week, I thought I would send the 1st ten who plug-in to one breakout room and the 2nd 10

I had DBS surgery 2 month ago and had 2 programming sessions, but still far from feeling any better. I can say, My tremors and distonia on presurgery status, taking much more medication than before and still having bad days (mostly of them). Does it mean failure of DBS? I don't know what to do. Levothyroxine sodium – Anhydrous vs. Pentahydrate
[i]If you read about levothyroxine, especially as a medicine, you will see mention of two forms used as the Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) in levothyroxine medicines: levothyroxine sodium (anhydrous) and levothyroxine sodium. Although the second form doesn’t make it clear, it could refer either

Hi all. My husband diagnosed with PD two years ago (almost). He refused to take any medication. It seems PD had some progress. I have a feeling he is now thinking about treatment or medication. He asked me how long usually takes to be on medication before going for DBS. (He is 44years old) Do you

A Genetic Cause for Iron Deficiency
We see a steady stream of posters here who have iron-deficiency. Iron-deficiency is an important issue in hypothyroidism. Hypothyroidism can reduce our ability to absorb iron. Low iron (typically low to very low ferritin) prevents thyroid hormone being handled well by the body. Many times, low iron

OK to take B12 supplement when serum levels are high?
Hi everyone! I am currently trying to work on my low ferritin 23 (15-250) and I have previously ALWAYS had low b12 alongside my ferritin and whenever one goes up/down the other always follows. I had a non moving b12 of 198-215 for years and I was previously on b12 injections last year but they were stopped

Help with supplements please!
Hello all, I was hoping for some advice about supplements. Last week I had some great advice from SlowDragon , SeasideSusie and humanbean after my last blood tests. In summary: Low Ferritin at 24 (range 10-291), but blood iron and rest of FBC fine (apart from high % hypochromic cells), B12 good at 874 (

Could I ask for some advice on vitamins please?
Hello again, My GP recently started me on 25mg of Levothyroxine. She also asked me to start taking an iron supplement which I haven't done as yet. I need to improve my levels of a handful of vitamins and I'm not sure of the best way to do it. I'm due for another blood test in about 5/6 weeks to test
