Iron supplementation
My ferritin is still too low inspite of supplementing and taking the iron with orange juice to aid absorption. I am using Spatone as it is supposed to be kind on the digestive system. Can anyone recommend another brand or suggest ways I cd increase my iron uptake.

What is relationship between serum Iron and Ferritin levels
I've just started to take Spatone Iron [lowest dose] to assist in T4 conversion, hopefully- as I've been feeling rather underwhelmed by taking T4 [25ug] so far. None of my tests for a few years show Iron level & only one the Ferritin level [74 = 25% of range 30-300]. Is there an easy rationale/connection

Blue lips and face?
My 2 year old daughter keeps going blue in the face around her lips and her lips, as well as her hands and feet. Is this normal? We have no official diagnosis yet but are on a waiting list.

Now off all meds in preparation for TRH Test.
Last time I tried this, I felt better for a couple of weeks, then went down hill pretty quick. This time I have to stay off all meds for about 4 weeks - just hoping I don't end up virtually housebound again :( I am actually interested to see the test results though as far as how my thyroid is working

Do Not take Iron meds with Levo.!.
for those who are not aware, do not take ferrous fumarate for at least 2 hours after taking levothyroxine as it can decrease the effects, and the amount of levo your body intakes! I was prescribed ferrous fumarate, and started taking it along with all my other meds on the morning. and only found this

Low ferritin
Hi, I,ve been treated twice for low ferritin, the first blood test it was 9 and well under the lower range, now it is 14, still under despite being treated with prescribed iron. I am on a massive dose of ezomeprazole for the reflux with my scleroderma, and have been for years. (80mgs daily plus ranitidine

Vitamin B12 Deficiency
Has anyone with a Vit B12 deficiency had their treatment started with injections? And, if so, how long did you notice an improvement, especially with fatigue?

Just wondered whether having a B12 deficiency would affect absorption of iron tablets?
Having seen a couple of other posts relating to B12 it's just got me wondering whether low B12 levels could be a reason why my iron store levels aren't improving very much after nearly a year on the tablets. I have never been tested for B12 and folate levels....Just curious although I was orignially
