Nitrofurantoin
Anyone taken Nitrofurantoin & had adverse effect on B12 levels? Had them prescribed for UTI, says on info leaflet to TAKE SPECIAL CARE if you have 'a lack of Vitamin B or abnormal levels'. There is no specific reference to Vitamin B12, so are they just generalising. e.g any type of vitamin B deficiency

Possible iron anemia
Hello everyone My mum is 48 years old and she just did a blood test as she was feeling very tired, couldnt sleep properly and lost significant weight and doesnt have a appetite. The results came back showing low hemoglobin and the gp said that it could be an iron anemia or internal bleeding. However

Low B12 without the PA
I've been diagnosed with having B12 deficiency as well as Folic acid deficiency. Does this mean that I have pernicious anaemia? My doctor said no, because I was not anaemic as my Iron was ok. As I understand it, I will have to have B12 injections from now on, and that I can't absorb it, which is the

after feeling well for the first time in over a year, my blood results are back, could you please advice?
August has been the best month as I finally had energy! Since this forum's precious and irreplaceable advice, I begun supplementing with Vitamin D, C, iron, B12 and B complex, K2, and continued my HLC and pepsin, cider vinegar/lemon and probiotics. I am in 125 T4 which I take last thing at night and

Gastroscopy and colonoscopy came back "normal". What now?
Some advice needed please... Almost 2 years ago I was very symptomatic (brain fogs, tiredness, mouth ulcers etc), and had a B12 reading of 127 (range 180-900). I fought hard to get B12 injections. Tests for Intrinsic Factor and Parietal Cells came back negative and the Dr and haematologist have both

Which brand vitamins should I buy and how should I take them if I am starting Levo?
Hi I have been prescribed a low dose of Levo (25mg) but I am low in Ferritin (42) range is (20.00 - 204.00)). And I need to take B12 (652) as I've read I should be around 1000. Also folate is low-ish - 9.4 (3.10-20.50) Can you recommend any brand of iron, folate and b12 to buy? I've been advised not

Anyone else on Thiroyd does it equate to old Levo dose?
I've been on thiroyd for about 3 months. I'm up to 3.5 grains. When I was on 2.5 I had blood tests and my FT3 was in range but low. I'd been on 100 mcg of Levo before, so if the 60mcg equivalent is anywhere near correct I was already taking the equivalent of 150mcg and still under medicated. Has anyone

Blue Horizons Thyroid Check +10, advice pls on ferritin test
Hiya. I'm thinking of ordering this test so I don't have to schlep off to town to have the blood taken. Will the ferritin result tell me if I need iron supplements? (Tbh it's something I've never understood, why you need a test for iron and ferritin.) http://homebloodtest.co.uk/product/home-blood-test-thyroid-check-plus

Thyroid and low haemoglobin
I have been reading this forum but this is my post. I am in 200mcg of Thyroxine and still feel pretty dreadful and have researching on this forum about how to improve. However last week, I went to donate blood and (for the third time) was refused due to too low haemoglobin - so low they told me to go

I recently got a b12 serum test done and the results were in the 900-1000 range but that didn't stop me from
