I done something silly!
As I've been shielding, I've hardly been properly out of the house bar a few late night walks and some
cycling
. Then the other day, as the weather was great, I thought let me go out on a proper stroll and get some very much needed vitamin D. So off I went to some fields close by.

Motivation to exercise
Normally exercising every day walking or
cycling
to meetings, I need motivation and discipline to do the equivalent now there are no meetings! All I seem to do is gardening and more gardening.

TROUBLE TONING UP WITH EXERCISE
When I am training its a mix between
cycling
, yoga and strengthening. Still my stomach and thighs are so chubby and im sure its getting worse. My diet is amazing, I don't eat rubbish or drink fizzy drinks or alcohol.

I am seriously considering buying an electric bike because I can’t walk as far as I’d like to be able to and I wondered if anyone else with PMR had one and if it caused a lot more leg pain? ( I need to stave off boredom and attempt to lose a bit more weight!!!)! I’d be pleased to hear any comments- positive

Graduation Post! 🎉 Freddy and Elation
The very best part is I’ve finally convinced my husband to give it a go (he was adamant when I started that running wasn’t for him so he started
cycling
instead) I can’t wait til we can go for long weekend runs together- what better graduation gift 💝 “Keep on fighting til the end, we are the champions

A stiff heart
One thing I suffer which is a problem is, after
cycling
( which I started 3 years ago to improve health and fitness) I suffer low blood pressure that pretty much puts me on my knees for 5 or 6 hours. It appears the more raised my heart rate the lower the pressure.

Life after traumatic brain injury
A year ago I was
cycling
to my placement as a student nurse and a car hit me. I dont remember it or anything for a couple of weeks. I got plenty of fractures to go with the brain injury but I made a good recovery.

First little group run
Tried to make up for it this morning with 15k of
cycling
and a 5k run around a track on the way home. (Yes, I fully realize that logic does not really hold up, but humour me ok? 🙂 ) The best part was getting together for a meal and coffee afterwards.

Rapid weight gain and failure to lose it on 3mg of pred.
I am walking
cycling
eating little but to no avail. After this weight gain some months later I became adrenal insufficient, so tried hydrocortisone- same problem there- I look cushingoid but of course I am only on 3mg of pred a day. Any ideas as to what may have happened?

Early Morning Aching
I also do gentle aqua aerobics, short
cycling
trips and some Tai Chi. Presently my hip is so bad I waddle like a penguin and I can't climb stairs. The worst thing is the aching in my hips and legs which starts around 2 in the morning and keeps me awake. I often get up then and take 5 mgs pred.

W8R1 windy but good!
But my young running buddy (now
cycling
) persuaded me to still go out and I am so glad he did. I had a really good run despite the wind being against us but I really missed Jo telling me there were 60 seconds left I’d been hanging on to give it one last push!

Running and Cycling and social distancing?
Well up until this weekend this was something that had not crossed my mind. I'm fortunate in that my location gives me access to trail runs along the highpoint of a canal system that for others requires a car journey to enjoy, meaning that during this time of lockdown I have had undisturbed access to

Can PMR last a lifetime?
Otherwise I am an extremely fit male and do regular exercise (swimming,
cycling
, running etc) . Unfortunately I have never been able to get off this medication.

Graduation day
adventure to improve my legs, give me a bit more puff and because I had wanted to try running since I gave up my professional smoking habit on 02/01/2018🤮 I thought I was fit seeing I was playing 2hrs of badminton at least 3 X and 90 mins of squash 57 X 1 each week plus loads walking and commute

Starting over
I'm going to get myself a bike and start
cycling
as it's something me and my partner can do together although one of us will probably end up on the canal 🤣🤣 I need diet inspiration as fed up of eating the same stuff so any input would be great . Hope you are all well 😘😘

Here is one of the roads I get to cycle on. The Pacific Ocean looking towards San Francisco. This is Tomales Bay, and Point Reyes National Seashore. Good place for riding, lots of nice scenery, not many cars. If it is warm enough tomorrow that is where I am riding. Roads here can be steep. 20% grade

Much better, much quicker recovery - even managed to swear at some yoofs
