Numbness
I have had some *loss of sensation* in a few places - finger ends, face, thighs - for a while, but it's gotten really bad recently to the extent that I have no feeling in my index and middle finger on my right hand, with limited feeling to thumb and ring finger, and on the left hand limited feeling to

Pain Clinic
Hi I am due to go to a pain clinic for the first time. Any advice on what help I could ask for besides taking tablets as I want other options. It's for chronic back pain which is unbearable. Also for operational pain for something else but my priority is my back pain I haven't had cortisone injections

Anyone else use predisolone and anti inflammatories together?
I've been prescribed both but only use the anti inflammatories ( Arcoxia ) when necessary. My doctor wants me to cut down on the cortisone and use more Arcoxia but sometimes the Acoxia seems to have no effect at all. I just wondered how many other people use both.

Did anyone notice red patch on throat before being diagnosed with under active thyroid?
Just as a matter of interest, before i was diagnosed as being under-active, I noticed a red patch on my throat which was spreading over a matter of a few weeks. The skin seemed to be 'dying' as it went red and very dry (but not flaky) and worryingly began to spread quite noticeably. I went to the doctor

Stress in Life
The word ‘stress’ is defined by the Oxford Dictionary as "a state of affair involving demand on physical or mental energy". Stress is a condition or instance which can disturb the normal physiological and psychological functioning of an individual. This demand on mind-body occurs when it tries to cope

Looking for advice...
My boyfriend was diagnosed with Crohns/Colitis with the possibility of Behcet's syndrome 18 months ago. He'd been to see, what seems like a million doctors now and for a year we were in and out of hospitals, getting treatment for whatever the disease threw at us at the time, and searching for an answer

Just finished my First set of Rituximab infusions. Not as bad as I expected. YEA!
I had such anxiety over this new drug Rituximab. I wrote a few weeks ago asking you all for advice and asked for others experience. It was very helpful. I just want to say thanks for the input and advice given. All has gone very smoothly. I feel fine except for the increase of cortisone which comes

Baker's Cyst.
Hi all! I have been suffering with a Baker's Cyst for the last few months and finally went to see my Consultant on Monday who didn't drain the cyst (needs to be done via scan) but drained other fluid from my knee and injected it with cortisone. He said that this should help but if it doesn't then I'd

No diagnosis either!
It seems I am not alone in suffering with the non-diagnosis, which as a Newbie is comforting to know. I landed in hospital 1.mai with numbness and no strength in legs and arms/hands. They did every test there is and decided after 3 weeks they would pass me over to a Rehabilitation centre. A whole month

A BRIEF HISTORY OF RA AND ITS TREATMENT
I thought it would be interesting to delve into the history of RA. It goes back pretty far; farther than I thought it would. Some skeletal remains in what is now Tennessee (USA) date back to 4500 BC and have shown some signs of Rheumatoid Arthritis. So far, that’s been the earliest appearance of this
