Any oral contraceptive recommendation for teen daughter with ADHD ?
My teen daughter has had great success using Guanfacine to treat her ADHD symptoms, namely impulsivity and emotional regulation. She recently started low-Ogestrel (brand name)birth control and it completely reversed the effectiveness of her adhd meds. The emotionally out of proportion outbursts returned

Contraception methods used with Lupus
Hi all A rather personal question today but if I can't ask it here then I'm not sure where I can. I currently have m=Merina coil fitted that is coming up to its 5 year life. I wondered what other medications etc Lupus patients have been recommended please. Thanks.

Bad ‘period cramps’ but no period… want answers
Hi, my names Nicole and I’m looking for answers as to why I’m having severe pelvic pain. I’ll try to keep this short but include all the main points. I’ve been on the contraceptive pill you take every day, for around 2 years. During this time I’ve never had any bleeding, not even spotting. Roughly 6-

Bit of a rant
Feeling a bit meh. 4DP 5DT and I’m just having feelings it hasn’t worked out. Since I came off contraception a few years ago, I’ve been super in tune with my body and even the silliest things such as higher sex drive, more irritable, slight cramps, headaches, happy or not, will indicate certain point

Advise please - apologies it’s a 3 year long journey of my infertility and unfortunately my pain
Sorry for the long story. On Saturday 30th July 2022 it marked 3 years since I had my implant taken out. There were 2 reasons for this, firstly I was getting pain and discomfort in my lower abdomen and as I had only had this in for a year I assumed it was because of this. Secondly, my husband and I

new medicine
hi everyone, Just looking for words of reassurance I suppose.. I’ve always had major health anxiety, worry about every little thing - not too sure where it stems from. Even from when I was little I’d freak on being sick - I still do now. I’ve always had a thing with medicine.. I mean I’m 21 and

Nerve pain related to endometriosis
I have been suffering with pain, amongst other symptoms, since the start of lockdown. I was very lucky and managed to get a laproscopy earlier this year, however the surgeon found nothing and prescribed me contraceptives as well as fitting the mirena coil. Although the hormones have helped to some extend

Will the pill affect my results?
I've had been on the pill for 10 years and decided to come off and let my body do it's thing. Turns out that was a bad idea because my pains and symptoms got so bad and I've been referred to the gynaecologist to check for endometriosis. My appointment is at the end of October so the plan was to remain

Timing to start combined pill for endo?
I was recently referred to a gynae to investigate endometriosis following an ultrasound and relevant history. The gynae prescribed me the combined pill (microgynon 30) to try in the first instance. I'm taking it back-to-back for 4 months to stop my periods. I've not been on any hormonal treatments

pelvic scan
hi all, I’ve had an appointment through for a pelvic scan. Is it worth asking for a transvaginal scan while there or do they just do what’s on the referral? Are they able to see more with this. I’m doubtful they will be able to see endo from this. I will then be waiting for my gynaecology and colorectal

Very light periods
Hi, I have PCOS and endometriosis. I’ve been on the pill for years and stopped a few months ago and now my periods are very light and only 2 days (previously were very heavy for a week). I think I ovulate as I feel the pain ++ and get a positive ovulation test at that time. I’ve read light periods could

Having mirena coil fitted
Hello! I’m 23, I’ve had endo for 10 years now. I had a mirena coil fitted when I was 18 but it was during my laparoscopy so I obviously wasn’t aware of it being inserted. Some complications and changes, it ended up ‘falling’ down. Then tried the implant and then the pill. Due to me having my symptoms

Hydroxyurea and sleep issues ?
Hi, Has anyone had any sleep issues while taking hydroxyurea? I've been taking one (500) a day for about 9 months. I'm experiencing interrupted sleep at night. Sleep a couple hours, wake up, sleep an hour wake up etc. Wondering if the Hydrea could be causing this? I take the pill at 10:30am.

One of my eyes got blurry a few times along with migraines right before I started on hydroxy. I’ve been on the pill six weeks and it immediately cleared up as soon as I started on it.
