The Queen is off Friday.... whose watching the Kingdom?
I'm writing to release some tension. I decided that this forum is good for the soul (had decided that long ago). I'm off of work tomorrow I get to spend some time in the kingdom but deep in school writing world. I feel like work and school are my best distractions. That and a good plate of delicious

Dialysis chair comfort please
Does anyone have any tips for making a dialysis chair more comfortable? In it for 12 hours a week - turning into a big deal.

Does anyone else feel kinda gobbled up by dialysis? I feel like it ate my life.
I just hit the 3 month mark of doing solo home hemo. The treatments are going great, but I am having trouble getting my groove back. Some days I feel overwhelmed trying to fit everything in and I have to remind myself that it is okay and I try and give myself some grace. It's hard, I work full-time (

Scary times
Just learned that my gfr is down to 14. I knew dialysis was in my future but now it looks like it is here. Not a candidate for peritoneal dialysis because of too many abdominal surgeries. Worried about having cannulas in my arm. Seems like a high risk for infection. I had MRSA and it was very unpleasant

cpap feels like the air is less clear … stuffy … even more stuffy than breathing without it on ?
my cpap makes the air I’m breathing feel very stuffy … not quite got to grips with this …. As I’m new to this I’m wondering could it be a machine problem …. I sort of thought my air would feel clear … sorry for so many questions …. I’ve washed tubing and filter btw…

still struggling with machine and mask
had the cpap for almost a month now and seem to have 2 bad nights and one ok night. Have only felt the benefit for one day …. When I felt like I didn’t need a daily sleep. Still with the nose mask and still struggling with comfort… I don’t want to moan and I am persevering but wonder if something

RLS/PLMs and treatment
I would like to share information concerning my health particularly in relation to RLS/PLMs hoping that others with the condition may be helped. My experience of RLS could go back to my teens when, whilst seated and playing cards with my brother, we would both be moving our legs quite rapidly, toes

I have a severe axonal lesion of the peroneal nerve in my lower left leg and foot. I am interested in gaining more info on my condition.
In November 2019 it is presumed that I had some sort of fall and lay unconscious for at least 48 hours before being discovered by family members. I have no recollection of any of this. I awoke in hospital to find that my foot felt incredibly heavy and I was immobile and bedridden. In addition I was put

Queen in work done mode.
Had a rough night of sleeping including some cramping and numbness in both arms. I’m a side sleeper so I might have to try something else. Might have to try my back or stomach. I’m not on dialysis but lower back cramping has been a thing, and it hasn’t hit me in a while. Also my neck is still feeling

Adviceif you
if you were in the early steps of getting a transplant, ie just referred but not heard from yet, what advice do you wish you had? I've read people have bad outcomes and others with good outcomes. Its my desire to have a transplant before dialysis.

How long before feeling the benefits of Dialysis?
My husband recently started dialysis. His GFR was in the range of 6-9. He's also anemic. He's 62 and his uncontrolled diabetes is the reason for his CKD. His A1C is in the normal range now, but the damage is done. Today will be his 8th dialysis session. So far he isn't feeling better. He's still

Thank you all for the wonderful feedback, you have changed my life. It’s great not to feel alone anymore when no one around me can really understand this ‘ non pain’ enormous pain. I’ve a question, I know that RLS is connected to kidney failure and people on dialysis are prohibited from certain foods

Improvement in fatigue
I'm what the sleep doctors call, "a long sleeper," sleeping on average 11 hours a night. A year ago my kidneys failed due to an allergic reaction to medicine and I've been in stage 4 CKD since. One of the worst side effects for me was the added fatigue. My primary care physician suggested that

Be encouraged and stay healthy during your wait
Hello, I just wanted to encourage everyone to stay as healthy as possible while waiting for that big call. I was listed on 4 transplant listings in Texas. I finally received the call on April 23, 2022, from Dallas transplant center. I waited one year and two months. I managed to get transplanted before
