ACUTE KIDNEY INJURY due to BK VIRUS
Anyone here suffered from AKI after transplant that has to undergo dialysis for the kidney to recover? Transplanted kidney is not severely damaged on biopsy but creatinine is high due to active BK VIRUS.

A Queen's Respect
Of course I have to give respect to the true Queen. So sad to see her go. I was going to say she was like the grandmother I never saw or got a call from but she was always there dressed to the 9s and had a waving hello for everyone. Aside from that I've been tired as a pot hound after a morning bunny

let's stay with positivity..
I was diagnosed with end stage renal failure at the age of 16 and had undergone dialysis continuously for 7 to 8 months. Fortunately My Father was my kidney donor and got my transplant on 2012, 10 yrs ago. I was at the age of 16 during that time. The pain that I endured during those 7 to 8 months

Side Effects of Rivaroxaban?
In my early 40's I was prescribed Warfarin after DVT thrombosis in leg and two PE's circa 2004. Had what I would call accepted side effects, feeling cold, easily bruised had to change my diet slightly as grapefruit juice, cranberries, leafy greens were apparently not good whilst taking Warfarin. Around

im going to die soon….but im ok with it I had ten yrs to think about it so Im fine with leaving this world behind….it’s obviously a rational and well thought through choice (I absolutely refuse any transplants or dialysis or what ever is offered) ….I think its important to be careful with opinions

The issues!
I am new to this forum. I spend most of my time on the RLS forum, but I also have (treated) sleep apnea. I always tell people that I don't have insomnia. I could sleep just fine if I weren't walking around! Well-meaning people are always making suggestions to me regarding getting to sleep. If only

Diet book for PMR - anyone know of it?
Has anyone tried this book? It was recommended by my local pharmacist, a young guy that did a his university thesis on PMR. ( He also does a lot of research into CPAP machines having suffered a heart attack at age 28. It was discovered he had severe sleep apneoa). He's helped me a lot with both. Title

Transplant Journey outcomes/advice anyone?
Hi, I have had CKD for several years and declined dramatically over the last 6mths -1yr and was actually started urgently on dialysis in July when my GFR dropped to 3 and creatine was 12.43. I had already had a consult and was added to a wait list for kidney transplant in early February of this year.

ICU stay
I was admitted to hospital at the end of April after months of nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea and fatigue. I remember the ambulance but not entering the hospital. I was placed in an induced coma and ventilated for five days due to extensive brain swelling, respiratory distress, suspected abdominal sepsis

I'm have stage 4 CKD. My current blood test showed my GFR at 16% function. Thankfully, I have been approved by my transplant team for a transplant once my GFR reaches 15%. Even more amazing is that I have a living donor that has also been approved. Now my neph ( my regular neph, not the one on the

Beginning Peritoneal Dialysis
So my journey begins. I had surgery this morning for placement of my PD catheter. All in all, the experience hasn't been bad at all. They used general anesthesia, so I don't remember any of it after they gave me the happy juice. I barely remember my driver leaving the hospital and pulling into the driveway
