I share with you all that my daughter wedding was September 24 . I was praying not to be on dialysis when I went and I share my doctor said I’m holding on to 10 percent with no problems . My daughter had a beautiful day for the wedding . I had a great time dance the night away . My husband health went downhill the last couple of weeks where he went from a cane to a walker . Doctors can’t figure out why he having problems but they are working in it but he had to leave the wedding early . I had to leave early in the day at 10:30 in morning for hair and make up hanging out with the bridal party so my day was long from 10;30 to 10 pm and I did great for 10 percent kidney function .I had a wonderful time there was some mishaps for the day but they will make for memories .
just a good post : I share with you all that... - Kidney Disease
just a good post
Congrats, Beachgirl! I’m so happy that you got to enjoy the entire day (and evening!!!) and also feel so good to match! That’s a long day for anybody, so I am truly impressed and smiling for you! Are you off of dialysis, or haven’t started dialysis? Or were you referring to being off of dialysis for that day? Sorry if that is dense. I’m pretty new to everything Kidney and it’s been so tough in every single aspect. This forum has been some hope for me just reading the past few days. Thank you for your share and the gorgeous picture. Your post truly made ME feel happy, even though it was all YOU and your family! LOL
not on dialysis yet . Have had home visit for dialysis going to do pd. Was really sick and june with 8 percent kidney function I got it back up to 10 percent so doctor said that was good and I’m not showing swelling or toxins in the body or fog memories which are sign I need dialysis now so that why he told me go enjoy the wedding we will talk in October.
Yes this forum is great welcome to it jengirl
what a happy post. Thank you for sharing it and letting us know how well things have gone. ❤️CONGRATULATIONS to your daughter and her husband.
What a wonderful day you and your dear daughter had. My hope is to see my granddaughter graduate also without being on dialysis. You go girl, more power to you.
Awesome...🥰
Well dang, you actually did it. I'm very happy and proud for you. And you made it through a 14 hour day! That's no small feat with all you had to do. I sure hope you were able to get some rest in the days after. There's something about these "milestones" that I swear have some therapeutic value to them. When you want to stay healthier for a milestone, your mind seems to be able to control your body to a degree. It's a bit amazing to be able to do that. So now you just need another milestone to focus on and heck you could delay dialysis for another year! Tell your daughter you need grandchildren, yeah, that will do it! But if dialysis does come before that happens, here's hoping you just sail right into it, conquer the process and it just becomes part of normal every day life to plug in at night and unplug in the morning and then go play with the grandkids. It's just part of the job. It's important not to let it take over your life any more than it has too other than during the "training" days when it seems that it's all that you will do for that week. But then it will settle in and your new normal will kick in. Again, very proud of you for being able to enjoy that day as much as you did, and making some great memories (even the snafu type!) . Keep us posted as your journey proceeds. Thanks for your contributions on this site.
oops. I remember now. Got it on the grandkids. So you got lots of good reasons for motivation. Excellent!
That is wonderful that you were able to be there and enjoy your daughter's Big Day!
I am at the same place with kidney function went from 8 percent to 11percent. I am getting ready to have surgery for the opening for dialysis. I just can't seem to face reality. I wish you all the best, that you keep improving.
That is so wonwonwonderful.
So Happy for you Beach Girl! Moments and events like this are what make life living for. Glad you experienced the joy of seeing your daughter start her new journey. Bless you and cherish your family. Hope your husband gets to feeling better 🙏🙂
wonderful and uplifting story. Thanks so much for sharing! I’m so proud the day was as good as you described as it’ll be wonderful memories for you and (more importantly?) your daughter for the rest of your lives! Tremendous!
