New to CPAP/Airsense Sleep Apnea machines - how did you choose the model you have?
Hi all, new to this community. My dad's sleep test came back with severe Sleep Apnea results. We're told by the Neurologist to go on Resmed.com and a few other sites to see which model we want to rent (covered by Medicare). Currently considering the Airsense 11, but would love to some guidance and first

Statins
I just finished watching - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0MSNUjQt0u0 I find it fascinating that doctors are aware that statins don't work on dialysis patients, even the KDIGO guidelines say not to prescribe them, and yet doctors still will go ahead and lower LDL using statins. I know I am on one .

Hi all, I haven't left you, but these are the last two weeks of school. Then I'll have the summer off. I'm concerned dialysis is getting closer and closer. My creatine number is slowly creeping up. I don't even like to say the number out loud because it is so very upsetting. I have to realize that dialysis

can you swim when on dialysis?
After my catheter insertion, I was told I can’t swim in a pool due to risk of infection. I haven’t been in a pool for over a year and I really miss it. I’m going on holiday with my family this summer where there’s going to be a lovely pool and I was thinking of different ways I can swim safely, if possible

Beta Globulin deposits in dialysis patients
I am on Dialysis for 4 yrs after my first transplant failed. I have started developing knee joint pain most probably due to beta globulin deposits. Anyone experienced this? Any possible treatment for this? I have asked my dialysis center for high flux dializer. But I could not find any treatment. Alternative

""BRAIN FOG""
Hi I am a 70 male I had a sister who gave me a kidney Aug 2015, as having been on dialysis 9 moths I was on the way out. I have a good weight 70 kg, 5ft 5 height walk every day with Archie but I feel at times in a bit of a "Brain Fog"

PD Dialysis Issues - Can't Catch a Break
So, I went from stage three to Failure very quickly (less than a year). My plan was always to go straight to PD, as it seemed to best fit my life. My doc had other plans and was almost instantly in the hospital having a chest tunnel put in for Hemo. That was ok in the beginning and my fistula was then

Making it real
This is my first post here. I'm an ADPKD patient and have known it for the past 15 years. It's inherited, and my mother suffered from it when I was young. After a LOT of trips to hospitals and dialysis centers, she got a transplant in 1977. She died when I was 14. I was always under the impression

Part Time PD
Ok, troops. I would like some info. I met with my Neph today. My numbers are great. Phosphorus was at the upper end, but I expected that after Thanksgiving :-) Now that my hernia repair surgery is getting all healed up, looks like I'll be back one the PD train the week after Christmas. So my question

low motivation
Hey all. Last times I facing problems with very low motivation to do something. It's hard for me to leave bed. I hove no pain or another discomfort. But any my wish to do something breaking by question “why?”. All actions seem meaningless. My mood is a little uprising only when I use tablets like ibuprophen

A1C level
I called my doctor's office ahead of my Monday appointment to ask what my A1C was. It went from 7.7 to 7.3. I am disappointed that it wasn't lower with the amount of insulin I take. I know I can be better with my diet and exercise. I have been alot better using my CPAP. Disappointed was hoping for

Jaw and Shoulder Pain
Did anyone have jaw and/or shoulder pain that was eventually relieved once they found their sweetspot? I am 24 days on 100mcg T4 and 5mcg T3. I have the jaw and shoulder pain, plus still very tired. I think the brain fog is somewhat better. It is hard to sort out brain fog and fatigue at times. I can

PERIODIC LIMB MOVEMENT DISORDER
I have not shared for a while. I would like to report that I have been taking the iron supplement every other day with orange juice. Also am taking 300 Gabapentin. I did a sleep study last year and it showed that the PLMD is not disturbing my sleep as it is now at a moderate amount. The sleep study
