CC-122
Hi friends, This week in the Beyond the Basics/Treatment section of our website, we’ve posted an article about some ongoing promising immunological research in CLL with the agent CC-122. Stick or Twist...Not Really.
Hi, PaulaS suggested that I write and let people who know me on here know how I'm doing. She suggested it quite a long time ago, but I didn't know how I was doing until today. I have just had the consultation post chemotherapy and have been told that I have achieved full remission, which is good news

Are there possibilities other than stem cell transplant in Canada for CLL with 11Q deletion?
My son lives in Canada. He has CLL stage 4 with 11Q deletion. He was taken off Ibrutinib because his Neutrophils were getting low. Then he had a cold and swollen lymph nodes on his neck, and an enlarged spleen. He is now back on Ibrutinib on a reduced dosage of 2 pills/day. His doctor says that according

Exercise can improve cancer recovery and reduce health-care costs
"Exercise has been shown to dramatically improve the lives of people living with cancer, yet it is being underutilised. This is despite the fact it costs next to nothing to administer and research shows it improves patient outcomes while driving down healthcare costs." While Rob Newton, Foundation

Hi everyone, I'm looking for some advice please! I had a liver transplant 3 years ago, everything went well and I'm feeling great. Over the last few months I have developed hypertension which is not responding to any medication. As a result I have moderate kidney damage. Over the last week I have blood

COPD
Can anyone tell me if a green inhaler containing Salmeterol 50 micrograph, one puff twice a day is a large dose. I was diagnosed with COPD last week and my Dr didn't tell me much not even what stage I was and at the time I did not know that even existed. I was told my lungs are equivalent to a 79 year

Did I finish all 26.2 miles?
You bet! I ran with my friend Ann and wore my purple shirt provided by St. Louis' Gateway chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Diagnosed for 4 1/2 years with CLL, still on Watch & Wait, with a secondary cancer (breast). Not giving up! Thanks everyone for your thoughts, prayers and support

Patient survey, support groups and living well with CLL
Friends, It’s been a very busy year and this week I spent a few days away from my patients and my online and live support group efforts just walking, reading, and resting at a nearby state park on the beach. It was wonderful! As I prepare to speak at a symposium at the 2016 European Hematology Association

New Onc/hemo and medical center
I met yesterday with a doctor from our local research hospital. They have a specific CLL program. Everything the doctor talked about are things I have been reading. It is such and organized program I felt a sense of relief. After 3 1/2 years into this he staged me at one (even with my questionable genomics

Stem cell breakthrough - using fat cells to create human multipotent stem cells to regenerate body parts
Face it, given the median age for CLL diagnosis is about 72, most of us are wishing we could replace some worn out body parts... While not CLL related, the article below does touch on why bone marrow transplants work (it's stem cells that are transplanted) and why this new technique is an important

ANA positive?
A little confused about my ANA test. Result says positive. Flag for abnormal. Reference interval - negative? Does tgis mean it's positive? BC my dr didn't explain and she just kind of brushed me off...again. Rashes still pop up randomly every day. And tired. So tired of being tired. : (
