If you are close to Cardiff this is a great opportunity to join us and meet up with others living with CLL and similar conditions, make new friends and help us shape this new group together.

If you are interested in joining us on Wednesday 11th May at 3.30pm  for our first meeting  please contact us by telephoning Nickey at LEUKAEMIA CARE on 08088 010 444 or by email to care@leukaemiacare.org.uk

or just  PM me  here in the community.

As a local to Cardiff i am very excited to be  on hand to help develop this partnered resource between Leukaemia Care and CLLSA  with the support of Cardiff clinicians,

Cardiff Central Library is right among the shops and cafes and also houses The Citizens Advice Bureau with closest parting next door at John Lewis. Cardiff central train station and bus services are a few hundred yards away. So plenty to do if you pop into town for the afternoon by train , bus or car.

Later on in the year we are hoping to meet in a few other South Wales locations to help seed local support.

Nick

Hi UU

It is very difficult finding local support

Leukaemia care and Lymphoma Association do have a network across the UK of local support groups  for people with blood cancers, but not in all areas.  They do look for opportunities to expand these if people want to come together in an area where there is not a local support group, If contacted by patients/advocates they will help with setting up a local support group..

I recommend that CLL people  seeking a local group attend  an existing LA or LC  support group meeting if seeking local support, having visited a few recently and been privileged to be able to spend a really uplifting time with people living with similar challenges.

If there is nothing in your area and a group wants to form get together I would talk to Leukaemia Care or Lymphoma Association about helping you do this

Best wishes
