High calprotectin, bad symptoms and struggling to get help...
Why on Earth would you not take biopsies if I was showing microscopic
colitis
in the past?! I wanted to say something in the procedure but I was sedated and sucking on gas and air and just couldn’t manage to speak up!

Colitis or chrones?
Currently being tested to see if I have
colitis
or chrones because they aren’t sure if it’s IBS. I’m really worried because I have read it could lead to having a stoma bag, wondering the likeliness of this outcome?

More evidence of a link between inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis) and Parkinson's disease

Herxheimer Reaction
I have a long history of digestive issues (possibly now
colitis
not IBS as everyone originally thought) and several years ago I was put on a probiotic by a nutritionist. This stuff was wonderful and I had a year of feeling great.

Gastro problems with hypothyroidism
Stool tests showed raised calprotectin and I was sent to gastroenterology where I had colonoscopy that showed microscopic
colitis
. I was given anti-inflammatories for this and ticked along for a few months before being hit by the worst flare up yet.

Still in the dark
The only strong drug I was ever prescribed was prednisolone for
colitis
. This did bring on pain so could be a possibility. I am confused and totally disallusioned. I thought a biopsy would be the answer but now there is still no diagnosis.

IBS basics for beginners
E407, or “Carrageenan” – is a food additive derived from a red seaweed, which is only present in small quantities as a thickener, but even at low levels it has been shown to be “highly inflammatory to the digestive tract” and associated with IBS,
colitis
and other GI diseases.

ABLATION PLUS 6 MONTHS
I do leave 14 hours between the last meal of the day and the first meal the next morning, I did have an ulcerative
colitis
but since I have improved my eating and drinking I have not suffered any symptoms at all.

Life beyond ITU
After 10 years of health service encounters, various admissions for stroke, cardiac surgery, ulcerative
colitis
, I started to become more unwell than normal in March 2018, with increasing medication and total immunosuppression therapy by September I was in trouble and started a 4 month vacation all inclusive

Pan ulcerative colitis
What meds does anyone take for pan ulcerative
Colitis
? And does it go in remission? Also is urgency a major side effect? I can’t go anywhere because of urgency. Thanks

I have Ulcerative Colitis, want to give to mom.
I am in remission for 5+ years of Ulcerative
Colitis
(UC), and I was denied being a donor because UC (like Chron's or IBD) is a chronic disease. I don't understand the sweeping exclusion here.

I am awaiting biopsy results for a second colonoscopy as my first was indicative of microscopic
colitis
12 months ago. Currently I'm not on any medication for malabsorption or microscopic
colitis
nor have I ever been as they've been treating it as IBS.
