ABLATION PLUS 6 MONTHS

Following on from my 3 month post, I am now really happy with the way I have recovered after a patchy first week then a very slow recovery. I still get the odd ectopic which brings me down to earth but apart from that I can get on with my life as normal (though not tried anything sporty yet). Holiday in France for 2 weeks in July and the unusual heat did not have any affect. I have drank small amounts of alcohol with no noticeable problem, though after drinking 100ml of strong cider when in France I did have some ectopics after around 10 minutes but these lasted less than 10 seconds. Not had any more than 2 alcoholic drinks at any one time. Eating back to normal, even spicy food is OK.

Still on Bisopropolol 1.25 and still not heard anything from EP with details on the ablation, I do see the Cardiologist in 6 weeks and hopefully will get some info then.

Have improved my eating, taking daily magnesium supplements and drinking lots of water. Still convinced the the root cause of the problem is an electrolyte/sympathetic/parasympathetic imbalance, so eating foods high in potassium and magnesium and not so much calcium or sodium. I do leave 14 hours between the last meal of the day and the first meal the next morning, I did have an ulcerative colitis but since I have improved my eating and drinking I have not suffered any symptoms at all.

BP a little high at 135/77 and Pulse rate of 66 (drops to 59 overnight) so all signs are OK going forward. I am hoping that the EP tells me to stop the Bisoprolol altogether but as I still have MAT (perhaps causing the ectopics I get now) and my BP is a little high, he may ask me to keep the Meds as they are. If all goes well I will post again in 6 months of if anything abnormal happens. In the mean time I read the posts daily and will add my views where I believe they can be of benefit, particularly interested with those that had their ablation around the same time as mine, hope your all doing well or at least improving - I have read that some may take up to 12 months to feel good after an ablation so still plenty of time. I will also look forward to Bobs posts following his SVT ablation 2 days ago.
