Shocked & scared & confused now
Hello everyone my name is Clair & I am new to the site. I have lung cancer for which I've had a Lobectomy on my righthand side. The tumour was attached to two sides of my pleura & was 7cm. My surgeon wasn't going to undertake surgery if it tumour was attached to the pleura but did so as he said I wouldn't

Shoulder/Neck/Head Pain
I suffer from right shoulder pain across the top and under the joint, down into my arm. My wrist is slightly swollen and my thumb and first two fingers get pins and needles on and off. The pain radiates around my neck and down the centre of my spine and I suffer with terrible migraines and a constant

Colostomy
Dont panic. There is a lot of info on the internet. Type in bladder and bowel foundation. Ring colostomy assoc. Having a stoma is no big deal. It may be temporary for three months to let the intestines heal and will be reversed. I have opted for an ileostomy for incontinence. It will at least give me

Colostomy surgery
I'm having surgery in 3 days, I'm so scared. My diagnosis is colovaginal fistula after a hysterectomy 20 years ago, and C sections prior to that. I'm having adheliosis, (lesions removed) from bladder vagina and colon. There are 2 surgeons both doing their bit. They have said there maybe a stoma in

Gastroparesis - A Novel Cause of Persistent Thyroid Stimulating Hormone Elevation in Hypothyroidism
Reading this case report I kept holding my breath. Surely he can't be suffering (or have suffered)
ALL
those disorders? Surely he can't be taking
ALL
those medicines? Surely if he has high TSH (no mention of FT4 - only that he was "clinically euthyroid") then it really doesn't matter why

VATS Lobectomy looming....
Well, all going well, this time next week I'll be minus 20% of my lungs. It's all happened really quickly after a very severe infection in January, the wheels were set in motion with the same surgeon who implanted my valves (they didn't work :( ) last year. Now it's LVRS (lung volume reduction surgery

Rectovaginal nodule
Hi everyone, had anyone decided against surgery for a rectovaginal nodule? My doctor strongly advised me to have the surgery as I have severe endo, adenomyosis plus a rectovaginal nodule. I'm absolutely petrified at the thought of having major surgery. I've left this for so long now. I'm trying to conceive

Stage IV Endo - hysterectomy
Hi - I have always had painful periods (that made me sick & pass out frequently) and after a particularly bad one where I couldn't get out of bed I was diagnosed with an ovarian cyst that was removed during surgery when I was 25. This was when they diagnosed stage IV Endo. I'm extremely lucky that I

Hysterectomy
Hello everyone, I've never written a post on here before, I've always been a 'reader'. I have suffered with endometriosis for about 15 years. I am waiting for a date for my hysterectomy, this is something I did not envisage at 34yrs old. They're making the cut horizontally and taking everything and

Some good news!
After debulking surgery in July 2014 and 6 rounds of chemotherapy, for stage 3 OC, I have finally been given the all clear. Okay, so I've got no hair left, and a colostomy bag but it could be a lot worse. I have just had to make friends with it. I used to be a curly redhead (out of a bottle) so it will

A setback in control of pain.
Hi All Long time since I've been on here as my symptoms have been going quite well... until recently. Prior to Mid January they were controllable and I had very little discomfort / pain. I would have 1 bowel movement a day either when I woke up or when I came home from college. And I would always have
