How long does it take to recover from a Lobectomy?
Hello, my husband has to have his middle lung removed. It's not cancer. However there are masses growing causing blocked airways. The doctors are saying it would be 2 weeks of recovery time. I on the other hand do not believe that. They will be opening up the chest so I'm finding it hard to believe he

Am I the only one
On October 21, 2014 I had surgery for a Right Upper Lobectomy. At that time they removed several lymph nodes and they were clear, meaning no Cancer. I have been told by many that I was lucky to have had surgery and the Surgeon was able to remove all the Cancer . I know that I am lucky to have had surgery

Back where I started!
Then 6 years ago had a emergency total
colectomy
. Left hospital with a ileostomy . At the time it was the best thing that happened as at last I had some control over my bowels. A year later and I started to pass a lot of blood with pain in what was left of my anus and rectum.

Update on CAT scan
The CAT scan is done and the results are in. I met with my oncologist yesterday and we discussed them along with potential future testing and treatments. The scan showed a 3 mm growth of the nodule, which I will now call a tumor, from 5 x 6 mm to 8 x 9 mm. Not a large increase, but growth nonetheless

CEA's normal
Last year I underwent a total
colectomy
due to colon cancer. My oncologist has scheduled a PET scan, my question is.... is he being overly cautious? I have no symptoms. I really don't want to do another scan.

6 month check up
Yesterday I went for my 6 minutes month check, blood, scan, and the doc. Exactly one year ago I had a lobectomy and a wedge resection on my right lung. Well 6 months ago they saw a very tiny nodule on my left lung and one on my right. They weren't concerned about the left one, but were watching the right
