Normal life has resumed!
I've not written for a while which is a positive thing! I'm stage 2 adenocarcinoma having had lobectomy July 16 and completed chemo November 16. Back at work since January and back to full hours now. I try to keep eye on posts here but sometimes feel guilty that I'm doing well and back to worrying about

Severe Nausea post lobectomy surgery
I was diagnosed with lung cancer in both lungs (non small cell ). I had lower lobe on right side removed and 7 weeks later the upper left lobe removed. Since my last surgery which was 8 wks ago I have been suffering from loss of appetite and severe nausea. I went from 118 lbs before any surgery to 97

Radiofrequency ablation NHS
**Update I'm having round 2 today, and so far round 1 has led to a 44% reduction. Hi guys, Yesterday I was the 5th person to have radiofrequency ablation (RFA) within the NHS in the UK. This only works for those with healthy thyroid but benign nodules, so if that applied to you read on. I had to

What causes pleural effusion (stage 4 Adenocarcinoma)
My mum was admitted to hospital tonight as she was becoming breathless on very little exertion. The chest X-ray showed a pleural effusion and I am just wondering what can cause this? Does it always mean a malignant effusion? As far as we know my mum has metastases to her bones, adrenal glands and lymph

Zoladex, hysterectomy, colostomy
Hi All, Been a while since I last posted. I have severe endo on bladder, bowel and pelvic area for (30 years and 8 laser laps). So it's got to crunch time. I wanted to hear about your experiences of zoladex before this major op. I'm concerned about the side effects because I'm a psychotherapist and

Effects of taking Carbamazepine Retard
This is to seek support from other present or past users of Carbamazepine Retard (Tegretol) manufactured by Novartis. Psp and pseudo obstruction
Hi, I wondered if anyone has any experience with PSP and pseudo obstruction ? My mum has been in hospital 5 weeks now with pseudo obstruction of her bowel which is not resolving. They are now talking about surgery and she will end up with a colostomy. I wonder if anyone else has had this and how effective

Thinking of saying no to chemotherapy
Hi, I have recently (4 weeks ago) had a lobectomy to remove the upper right lobe of my lung all done through keyhole surgery. The biopsy came back with positive removal of the tumour (4.7 cm) and the surrounding lymph nodes were totally clear of any cancer which is absolutely brilliant and I am so grateful

Stay in prayer
Hi John Will pray for you decision I was diagnosed with a cancerous nodule on the upper lobe of left lung. I have COPD so after a breathing tests it was decided if I had a lobectomy, I would be on oxygen 24/7. That would not work for me because I play league tennis four to five days a week Wednesday

My Journey
My journey started in November 2012. I had surgery for diverticulitis, the surgeon had to remove about 6 inches of my large intestine because it was twisted. One of his inside stitches let go so 5 days later my temperature was over 103, I was septic. Emergency surgery, a few more days in the hospital

Help!
Hi I am writing to see if someone can help me understand something? When I was about 29 years of age I had to have colon surgery for the removal of almost all of my intestine. DO I NEED TO UP MY LEVO THYROXONE DOSE
I am new here. I had a parial thyroid lobectomy in November, my TSH is now 4.25. I am taking100MG of levoyhroxone a day, my doc has told me to come back in 6 months for more blood tests. I assumed that I would have been told to increase the dose to lower my TSH ? My cholesterol is also high but I am

Update
My sister is still in hospital. She had a caecostomy as opposed to a colostomy or illeostomy. I can find very little information in caecostomies other than they are considered palliative. She is still experiencing leaking from the transverse colon and had a drain fitted but every time they move her the
