I had lobectomy 7 months ago by vats. I feel well but still have a horrible voice at times. I dont seem to be able to sing and reach notes anymore. Has anyone else got this ?

JCK, my wife's voice has gone bad also due to the position of her tumor. From the voice box we all have a nerve running down and back up and they say the tumor is pressing it. They are planning on an injection into the voice box to relieve it. Have a word with your Oncologist about it.

Dear jckjanetrosalin

It is good news you feel well; sometimes there can be hoarseness from the general anaesthetic where they place a breathing tube down your throat, which usually settles, however it would do no harm to get this checked out by your GP, especially if it is affecting your singing.

If you wish to discuss anything you can call us on our Freephone nurse led helpline number on 0800 358 7200

All the very best
