Adenomyosis/Fibroids - which treatment?
So an update following on from my recent Haemoglobin levels crashing and resulting in a blood transfusion... ...Well at 56 and surely close to the menopause I think six years of struggling with horrendous periods is long enough. It seems I have Adenomyosis and two 3cm fibroids. So, I have been

Help with Blue Horizon Thyroid Test Results
I wonder if someone would be able to tell me what my test results mean. In October I had a total thyroid lobectomy to remove a 6cm lump, which was benign. Since having the operation my TSH was 5.46 (range 0.27 to 4.2). I was started on 50mg of levo. Last week, I had a blood test at my consultants

Completion thyroidectomy
Hello everybody, I’ve just had my date through of the 14th January for my completion thyroidectomy. Just wondering how quickly people managed to get discharged. When I had my lobectomy I was out next day, but the info given to me by the hospital says 2-4 day stay. Hoping I can get home quickly and you

Is my body getting used to Levo?
Hello! Having never taken meds for thyroid before and having had a total lobectomy I have been on 50micrograms of Levothyroxine for 2 weeks now. The first week the change was amazing. Had so much more energy, not breathless, not dizzy, no more total wiped out exhaustion. However, 2 weeks in and I am

20 Months NED
My latest CT scan showed NED. I am so lucky. In four months I will be at the two year mark since my lobectomy. Nothing to brag about but just something to be thankful for. I sincerely wish all of you could report the same. Rick

Permanent or temporary colostomy
Another question. I am having a consultation with my oncologist and surgeon this Friday. Will they be able to tell me for sure if my colostomy will be permanent or temporary at that time?

Eastenders
Does anyone else find Eastender’s character Sharon’s line on tonights episode “He’s been strapped to me a colostomy bag” highly offensive. I’m coeliac but have family members who are IBD sufferers so I can sympathise as to how insensitive this is!

Some progress but a question about home testing
So I saw my consultant yesterday. Having had a total thyroid lobectomy 8 weeks ago. Had bloods done about 4 weeks ago with a raised tsh 5.46 (range 0.27 to 4.2) - no action taken to see if right half of thyroid would recover. Had bloods done again and I am now closer to range at TSH 4.4. (t4 16.9

Almost a year after ICU stay and sepsis
It was December 0f 2017 when two hospital stays with misdiagnosis by a callous and uncaring hospitalist (She told me to get up and take a shower and I would be fine) resulted in emergency surgery to remove four feet of intestines with perforation and sepsis. I spent several days in ICU on a ventilator

Trying to be hopeful
I’m 45 years old and was diagnosed with stage 3 lung cancer 19 months ago. I had a lobectomy and 12 weeks of hellish chemo which I would never put myself through again. Everything seemed fine for awhile but sadly yesterday my consultant informed me that the cancer has now spread to my other lung also

Flu jab for over 65's - Lobectomy
Awaiting date for surgery any time now. I am booked in to have a flu jab tomorrow (13th Nov). Now not sure whether I should still have it. The lobectomy is via a thoracotomy.

Colonoscopy
So on the back of my previous post I have now had my colonoscopy completed almost 2 weeks ago. The consultant was very happy with the rest of my bowel & I had only 2 small pollyps removed. And there were no other tumours :) He will see me in 4 months time just to check in on me. I asked him how long

feeling anxious
Long story short I had lobectomy in Feb 9cm tumour was taken with it. Never saw an oncologist until 3 months later who says that I should have been given chemo, I already have heart failure so now we are on a watch and wait but im told the cancer will almost certainly re-appear within 2 years post

Feeling dizzy and just strange!
Hello. I had a total thyroid Lobectomy and isthmectomy (left thryroid removed) a week ago as I had a 6cm solid lump in there. I am feeling a little bruised but physically ok. However, I feel like I am not quite with it in my head. I get occasional dizziness and nausea but its just this feeling of
