More important then LDL and HDL
Hi I am new here and have been struck, looking at the posts, at how dominated people are by their levels of HDL and LDL and of course total cholesterol. This surprises me because their is well documented evidence that other lipid profiles are more predictive than simply looking at LDL. For example you

Bloods on NDT - Low T4
What do your blood test results look like on NDT? Could those on NDT respond please? Or those that know the answer? :-) I have swapped some of my T3 to Thiroyd 7 months ago, and my T4 levels have increased but they are still very low, not even in the ref. range... I would have expected that my T4

Battle with Doctors ..and Hypo problems
I am very concerned about my health. I made an appointment last year with an Endocrinologist. I had lab work and my TSH was 3.4 (considered normal on lab corp ranges) but when doing research online and my primary doctor, they said 3.4 is high on what it should be consider the new "normal". My LDL Cholesterol

Your Suggestions Please
If you had to make only two recommendations based exclusively on your experience as a T2D then what would that be for the following profile where the goal is to achieve HbA1c below 5.6 (current 6.0) on a sustainable long term basis. PP levels behave great (1/2hr 135/115). Random closer to 100. Fasting

Could I have Hypothyroidism
This is the first time I have asked a question here I am convinced I have hypothyroidism, I have a diagnosis of RA and some years ago I was told I had secondary Fibromyalgia that varies depending which rheumatologist I see. For the last 2-3 years my symptoms have got much worse, apart from chronic fatigue

Why do diabetic people need to eat more fat?
Diabetes is a condition that affects the pancreas to the extent that they do not release the required quantity of insulin (later on when bcf gets deteriorated in Type 2), which can lead to a high blood sugar level as the body starts to absorb excess glucose from the food that it ingests. This can be

Advice on managing -or not- my 'high cholesterol' levels, linked to my under active thyroid
Hi, I've not posted here for a while, however I do have some questions that maybe someone may help me find a solution to. Firstly I'm hypothyroidien and on daily Levothyroxine (87.5), I'm ready to accept that it is quite well managed- a part from side effects (quite a number but I can support them),

Genetic Testing - Useful info or Project Fear?
It seems that the incidence of genetic testing for medical reasons is becoming more and more common. What doesn't seem to be getting more common is a sensible evaluation of what those test results may mean. Medical opinion seems to be that, except for some obvious examples like the BRCA1 and BRCA2 genes
