Weight gain on T3/Type 2 diabetic
Hi everyone I currently take 50mcg t3 cynomel. It’s been over 6 months where my weight has steadily been increasing. I have always been borderline diabetic type 2. I’ve recently had a hbA1c test where my result was 64nmol/mol (18.0-41.0). This was no surprise really as I know when I get weight it

Hi there, just wondering if anyone knows what this could mean as my time of the month is every two months and when I have it I only have slight bleeding and it can last for 18 days, my liver serum ALT level is 134 u/l (<33) high and my serum HDL cholesterol level is 1.2 mmol/L (>1.2) low, my doctor

If You Want to Know Your Risk of Cardiovascular Disease (CVD) Stop Focusing on LDL-C, Instead Focus on Apo B & Apo A1 - the ApoB/ApoA1 Ratio
"LDL-C has been the primary focus in lipid-lowering trials for more than two decades. A vast number of studies, both in primary and secondary prevention, have shown that there is a close relationship between LDL-C and CV event rates, the lower the LDL-C, the lower is the risk [163-165]. TSH target - Hashimoto's, early menopause and finally out of range
Hi there, I would appreciate some guidance/suggestions on the TSH (and freeT3 and freeT4, if appropriate) target number/range I should head towards. I have Hashimoto's and finally I am now out of range for my TSH so I might be in a position to get some help. However, I was reading on the Thyroid UK

Weight gain after medication raise
About 6 months ago my medication was raised from 100mcg to 125mcg and I have gained weight. My diet is pretty good and nothing has changed apart from my weight gain other than that I feel better. My aim is to get optimal and lose weight. I am feeling so frustrated with the lack of help from Gp who says

Heart attack last week and feeling scared.
Hi all I haven't written a post in a while but have been reading all posts. I wrote a few months ago saying my cholesterol was 19.4 and docs were adamant that I needed statins which I refused to take. My levo was increased to 200mcgs and I started to feel much better. I tried to tell my doc that once

Is It Time to Retire Cholesterol Tests?
Most readers of this forum are obsessed over their total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol values. That is because that's what their doctors focus on, and that is what decades of cardiovascular risk stratification have imparted on the medical community and the public at large. In the last 20 years or so

Inflammation, NOT Cholesterol is the Cause of Chronic Disease (including cardiovascular, kidney, cancer and others)
Here's a quote from a medical review journal which is available here: https://www.mdpi.com/2072-6643/10/5/604/htm "Abstract: Since the Seven Countries Study, dietary cholesterol and the levels of serum cholesterol in relation to the development of chronic diseases have been somewhat demonised. Well, that’s me told!
I went to the doctor’s this week, and among other things I asked her to renew my competition running certificate. (It’s a French requirement for any organised race, but not parkrun, fortunately). She agreed readily, but then asked if I’d ever seen a cardiologist. When I said no, she suggested I do BECAUSE

A walk in the forest in the rain 🌲 💦 HE and exercise.
Hi everyone, I went out yesterday afternoon when the rain had eased a little and had a 3 mile walk in the forest it was magical with all the colours of the leaves/foliage so it was well worth it. I pulled a tendon so have not been going for long walks but I've had a lot to do at home and have kept

Help with results please
I have posted here many times. Need some advice. I have been gluten free for two years and after few months my TPO ab dropped from 1300 (high for many years) to 526. My GP had told me nothing would make them drop. Now my latest results here show that they have gone back up to 1300. I don’t now know whether

Latest blood test results
Dear all, thank you in advance for this. Any insights appreciated. I have been on levo (5omg) for 5 weeks and will be tested after 6 weeks. However, I have been tested regularly for other things and they have thrown in basic thyroid tests each time, plus I contacted old GP from the first half of this
