Reality check ... Kim, and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day ;-)
First, here's to you! Morning Mimosa ... this was a pic from yesterday morning before we left our lake house, and returned home -- we were celebrating Day 22 of self quarantine. Secondly, a good night sleep is something to be thankful for. My friend pictured (right), her name is Linda -- she stayed

Recovery time after flu triggered asthma exacerbation
Hello folks, wondering if anyone has any experience of this? I am 43 and have had asthma since I was a child. As an adult it has been largely well controlled and mild ( with periods of no inhalers, and others needed to take a preventative steroid inhaler). In December 2019 I caught flu, and ended up

Kept doing
breathing
exercise
and propped up pillows. Finally fell asleep. Scary. It made
breathing
worse. Anyone else ever have this issue? Two puffs of 2.5mg once a day.

Hyperventilation syndrome
Hello all, it has been a while, I want to share this information with you as it has literally saved me. I have had asthma since childhood, now I have it chronically as an adult, for several years it was managed with my flixotide inhaler and only rarely needing ventolin until the end of last year. Suddenly

Recent experience with Asthma UK
I went back to my GP and we discussed what was said, and between us have put a new plan in place, including changing my medications and agreeing a new
exercise
plan. After following this for 5 days my
breathing
has improved significantly and my general asthma symptoms have reduced dramatically.

Coronavirus Anxiety: Key Advice for Chronic Illness Patients from Health Psychologists
Try this
breathing
exercise
. Breath in slowly for a count of five, hold for a count of seven, breathe out slowly for a count of five, and repeat for four or five rounds. “As the body calms down, you’ll notice your mind calm down,” says Dr. Ferguson.

Atelectasis (partial lung collapse) and Coronavirus
I had an AVR in May 2018 and as a result of the operation I suffered a partial collapse of my left lung (Atelectasis) with fluid on the lung. I was monitored frequently with chest X-Rays after the operation and advised to do breathing exercises to help the condition and over a period of time the lung

In focus: lymphoedema - exercise, skincare and lifestyle
Hello As well as the specific treatment techniques we’ve talked about in previous posts, there are also things you can do day to day to manage the symptoms of lymphoedema and reduce the risks of infection. As in our other posts, we’ll be focusing on lymphoedema in the legs because this most commonly

In focus: lymphoedema - massage and manual drainage
Hello In last week’s post we started to look at how lymphoedema is managed. We focused on compression garments and bandaging, which apply pressure to the affected areas to help the lymph fluid to drain. Today, we’ll be focusing on another way of managing lymphoedema, which is massage. As we mentioned

Ok . So I have not been able to get my heart rate under 110 all morning long. Even sitting and relaxing , doing breathing exercises... nothing helps. I have tried the cold water on face and cold washcloth one neck ...I already took a Xanax over an hour ago , and still won’t go down ..... does anyone

When you have an anxiety or panic attack, how do you channel it? What do you use to make this moment of lack of control more bearable? I try to calm down, see what parts of my body are being directly affected, I occupy my mind a little with things from my house, if it is too late at night I do some stretching

Calming activities pre bedtime?
My son is 7 with ADHD on Focalin and he gets severely hyper before bedtime and we can't seem to find anything to help him calm down. I also suspect he is a sensory seeker as he is constantly in motion, down on the floor, all over the place. We read books, I've let him read in bed, we pray, do deep breathing

Severe Nighttime Anxiety
This is day 3 in a row where my anxiety is very intense at night and I can't fall asleep. I'm having yet another panic attack. I'm currently taking 150mg of Zoloft daily, and 0.25mg Klonopin as needed for severe anxiety. I've been trying to conceive a 2nd child for a year and I haven't been successful

Adios Week 6, Bring on Week 7
Get your
breathing
right, this is the cornerstone to any
exercise
really but more so in running. Once you have a nice deep belly breathing rhythm going then focus on maintaining that. 2.

Helping helps!!
I know that this is a community of people who have anxiety and I have it tío so I put myself in order to talk to anyone who wants it or need it, I think that many times this is a monster that is difficult to fight for oneself, and neither Everyone understands what it is like to have this in mind or do
