I need a direction to the rest of my life journey …
I am not sure if I know which way to go: should I continue the rest of my journey without Chemo or go back to the forth line: Advance stage (4) OC and tumor nodules all over the abdomen and one year of different type of chemo without any positive response. Currently the general goal of therapy is palliation

I B S irritable bowel syndrome
Well I can remember my mother stroking her tummy with pain, now I know what it feels like. She one time had it running down her legs. It feels like the first stages of labour, sometimes a sudden need to go to the loo, and endless wiping.(wiping in-between too) Your bowel is going into a gazump, gripping

Are you ever free of Thyroid cancer?
I was discharged from my oncologist a few weeks ago. Big celebration and relief. I then got to thinking, theoretically, if my thyroglobulin begins to rise, my thyroid beds begin to grow, that could be it back. I know my Thyroxine is keeping my metabolism ticking over, but as its a suppression med too

Pramipexole and compulsive disorder
Hi, have just been prescribed Premipexole. I'm concerned because it says it's not suitable if you've have compulsive behaviour problems and I used to have an online gambling problem. Will it matter if I take a low dose? I'd rather have RLS than chance getting back to gambling. HS anyone else had any

High(ish) Calprotectin levels
Hello everyone, I'm a newbie on the Forum and would really appreciate your feedback I've had IBS for about 10 years and I'm 64. In February this year I saw a Gastroenterologist at my local Hospital. My G.P.had referred me several months previously as my bowels had become very loose. By the time I saw

Pulmonary Effects of Tobacco Vaporizer?
I have switched from cigarettes to a tobacco vaporizer, which is not the same as an e-cigarette in that it uses tobacco leaves rather than e-juices/liquids. I use approximately one cigarette worth of leaves on a daily basis. This device heats the leaves up to a max of 210 degrees celsius, thus not causing

Statin use and thyroid cancer: a population-based case–control study
I'll keep it brief:
Conclusions
We concluded that statin use was associated with thyroid cancer in female patients. Abstract of paper here: http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/cen.12570/abstract A possibly more readable write-up of that paper is here: http://www.medpagetoday.com

young people with COPD
I've been thinking about why there is a new younger demographic diagnosed with COPD. What has changed in the last 20 years with culture? In regards to marijuana in culture, the 60's and 70's did not have high pressure sodium lights which enabled a whole new way of growing pot hydroponically. The 60's

egg freezing with one ovary
Hello all, I live in Ireland and am under 30 years old. I got diagnosed with an immature teratoma (stage 3) and got my right ovary removed. Now chemo in 2 weeks with cisplatin and etoposide. I looked into egg freezing and the risks are that the needle could damage something and the cancer (microscopic

New Inhaler
Just been to see my Consultant today and I was offered a different inhaler to use instead of my Tiotropium. It is called Aclidinium and is to be used twice a day. Have any of you used this? I have been given one which will last me for 30days. If I am happy with it I just need to ask my GP to prescribe
