egg freezing with one ovary

Hello all, I live in Ireland and am under 30 years old. I got diagnosed with an immature teratoma (stage 3) and got my right ovary removed. Now chemo in 2 weeks with cisplatin and etoposide.

I looked into egg freezing and the risks are that the needle could damage something and the cancer (microscopic cells are left, hence the chemo) could spread further into the pelvis. I don't want this obviously so I was just wondering if anyone has any experience with that. I have to decide by tomorrow morning if I want to go ahead. Also another risk is that the eggs have cancer cells in it but the biopsy after the surgery was negative.

Appreciate any response. Thank you in advance.

Hi, I am sorry you are having to make this decision. Unfortunately I don't know enough about this to be of any help to you. Just want to send you a big hug. Ann x

I am sorry to hear you have health troubles. Wish you good luck. Unfortunately I know one fertility clinic in Poland (over and again live in that country), know the procedure is not expensive, and also know they rigourously check up eggs before picking. I doubt a clinic will pick up eggs with cancer cells after your medical examination.
