CHRONIC CARE NURSES
These nurses are little angels of mercy because I live in a nursing home after their initial visit they were satisfied that all was in place for me here. But they never left it at that, they ring me once a week and the nurse manager like wise, very often they can put things into place which could not

One surgery did nothing, the next ended up with a total
bowel
obstruction
14 days later which required being cut open, a
bowel
resection and infection due to "nicking a bowel", my husband learned to pack the wound for a month so I could get out of the hospital after 14 days !

More evidence on how exercise shapes our destiny
Not CLL related, but more evidence that exercise shapes our bodies and our health. Analysis of baseline fitness data from a study of nearly 14,000 men compiled between 1971 and 2009, and lung, prostate, and colorectal cancer diagnoses and outcomes using Medicare data from 1999 to 2009, showed that improved

Chemo makes resistant cancer stem cells???
This would be quite an interesting paradigm shift from what I understood was the prime reason for therapy drug resistance. It is commonly assumed, in CLL/SLL, that clones are born with different degrees of resistance to drugs and lay in hiding only to emerge after therapy or a time lapse. Speculation

Close Encounters
In the mid 70s, My brother and me were returning home, following another step along the road towards rock stardom. It was about half midnight. What had been a lovely summers day had given way to a warm cloudless night. We were driving along a dark and unlit motorway, the M66, with the shimmering lights

Rats and Little Mouses...
There is a little animal under the sitting room windowsill...inside...not outside and he or she chews away happily half the night...I sleep on the settee as you know and the settee is right under the window, so in the middle of night, when it's fairly dark and reasonably quiet, that chewing sounds quite

Writing Stories...
I do find writing stories or articles easy enough...most especially when the gist of them come from personal memories where there is no need to be precise or exact over names and dates or places. Those I find more difficult are those which need to be factual...for instance, I began yesterday to write

Celevac anyone?
Does anyone have any experience of methyl cellulose - I think it's called celevac? I have to take laxatives and struggle with all of them. Fibogel is no use and Movicol has it's drawbacks even though it works - I end up with the runs after a few days on it despite reducing the dosage. I'm wanting to

I read that feces matter can be used to fight/ cure C-DIFF
I wonder can this cure Colitis & Reflux. Both these problems surface after a colonoscopy. I am now on Lialda, with folic acid as well as Dexilant. Two of these medications have extremely high co-pays and there is nothing less costly to take. I supplement with probiotics. I still get bouts of the
