Myofascial farce
Hello bluedwards,
yes I suffer from geniculate neuralgia to be exact,it's a problem of the "nervus intermedius"-I was set on by my severe FM-I'm not sure if it's quite the same pain complex, as myofascial pain.I'm on codeine+lyrica, which doesn't really alleviate the condition. It's not there constantly of course, but unbearable when present.Try the "Ben's Friends" forum,on "Living with fibro.com",there are some knowledgable people.
Kind regards,Kirsten,(KTRANSC).
Hi,
I was diagnosed with myofascial pain. After much tweaking of meds, I am now on pregablin twice a day, Venlafaxine 75mg twice a day, nortriptoleyne 40mg in the evening. The paracetamol, tramadol and meptid as needed. My pain dr and my GP have said to make sure I take paracetamol with the tramadol as it has been proven that tramadol works best (something about absorption I think).
I much prefer pregablin to Gaberpentin which I was on before, I just felt spaced out on them. I think my combination is good. I still have permanent pain and flares, but my fibro is stable, as long as I manage my limitations, as I tend to carry on regardless and then the pain pays me back for trying to ignore my limitations.
Sorry if I've rambled, hope my experience helps. Take care. X
Hi bluedwards
I do not suffer with this myself but wanted to wish you all the best of luck with finding some resolution and relief to the problem.
All my hopes and dreams for you

Hi i suffer from neuralgia it is very annoying and very painful. Sometimes I have it for weeks on end and KTRANSC is right codeine doesn't work. It eventually goes away on it's own but it always comes back.
