How do you know that you are in remission?
Hi, I had a stem cell transplant in feb 2016 which has been successful although I did suffer from very severe gut gvhd and to some extent skin gvhd which left me hospitalised at Kings for 5 months. I’ve been out of hospital for just over a year now and have been receiving chemo as a preventative measure

7 week update post CABG x 3
Hi everyone I thought I would hang fire before I posted an update as nothing really much has happened since my last post. Well today I visited James Cook and met with a Cardiologist not my Surgeon, which was a little disappointing as I really wanted to shake his hand and give him my thank you card, but

CLL and Myeloma anyone?
I've had CLL with no treatment for 11 years but recently broke my collarbone and xray and CT scan revealed multiple myeloma. Treatment for myeloma started 4 days ago and the plan is to have stem cell transplant in 3-4 months. Anyone in the same boat and could stem cell transplant also help the CLL.

Heart rate during exercise
Hello all I'm trying to get some definitive info on what my safe exercise heart rate should be. I am 60 year old. I had a triple CABG 5 months ago. I am on 3.75mg bisoprol and 1.25mg Ramipril, daily. I take a statin and aspirin as well. My medication induced resting heart rate is typically around

Stem Cell Transplant
I've just been watching the BBC new and they were talking about a relatively new treatment for MS that kills off your immune system with chemo and then transplants your own stem cells back in, re-booting your immune system. Can all autoimmune disease patients benefit from a stem cell transplant and would

Gamma globulin
Today I go for my monthly gamma globulin infusion I usually do well except I get very tired and at times nauseous. Anyone here gets these infusions? I have been on Imbruvica for 4 years with little side affects, but recently my wbc and lymphocytes are climbing and my platelets are dropping slowly. I

Total Coronary Occlusion
I went to my GP with chest pain that I had been suffering from for a few months. The pain was on the right side of my chest and apart from one incident where it REALLY hurt, mostly it started in both sides of my jaw, then spread to both armpits and finally felt like I had just smoked too much. It would

3 week post x 3 CABG
Hi everyone Firstly thank you to all those who read my last update and a huge thanks to all that replied with their kind comments. So a pretty uneventful week really, my progress has been good with more positives than negatives. Been out walking every day until the "Beast from the East" put a stop to

Thoughts on PV/ET
There are a lot of new posters here (I’ve been here 3 months and feel like an old hand!) who are understandably nervous and worried. The dreaded cancer word and for many of us, our first real brush with our own mortality. However, there are two really important factors we need to focus on. PV and especially

down time...
Hi there everyone..I've been debating on whether to post this or not for the past 3 weeks as I don't want to sound maudling or negative as positivity is paramount after a CABG..and I know it's my responsibility to see my GP..but in order to save both hers and my time I thought I would ask if anyone else
