Hi all - had two stents fitted in one artery three days ago. I've posted a couple of times already. Had this procedure in what is regarded as the best heart hospital in China - Zhongshan Hospital Shanghai, linked to Fudan University.
They have sent me home with the usual drugs of Clopidogrel and aspirin and I was already on statins. But they have also given me Trimetazidine. Seems to be for Angina which I don't have. Anyone know anything about it? Thanks

Hi - no symptoms in the UK. Been a fit 'master cyclist' (defined as old retired bloke with nothing else to do but ride his bike haha) so first I heard of a heart problem was a stress test in shanghai to clear me to go climbing in the himalayas. The result was at Zone 5 my heart wasn't getting enough oxygen. My response was 'hey its zone 5, of course it's short of oxygen'. I think the cardiologist thought I needed psychiatric help as well as heart help :-). from there I had a CT scan which showed three vessel blockages but the cauterisation only showed one vessel that needed stunting so that was better news.
Anyway care and attention has been brilliant throughout albeit very risk averse. But I have to emphasise that our private health insurance has covered everything including my wife's heart surgery to fix holes in septal wall. I know - it sounds like I'm making this up So if we hadn't had that I'd have come home to the UK and waited in line I guess because without symptoms I wouldn't be a priority - at least that is what the BHF nurse said.
I love Shanghai. One of my favourite places in the world. I think that particular drug is used mainly overseas for heart disease. It’s probably expensive.
