Clopidogrel causing duodenitis?
I've been taking clopidogrel, amlodipine and statins for years now. Over the last year or so I have developed inflammation of the duodenum, confirmed by endoscopy. The consultant wrote "duodenitis caused by clopidogrel" on his summary of findings. However, since then doctors have declined to go down

Statins and IBS C
Hello I'm 76 and have had IBS C for 15 years. Recently I've been doing better which I attribute in part to the Nerva App and which I think is worth trying. However, I have now been prescribed statins for my ever increasing cholesterol and I see that one possible side effect is muscle cramps and

Statin Use and Survival Among Men Receiving Androgen-Ablative Therapies for Advanced PCa: A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis
New study from Canada. Laurence Klotz was a co-author. Yet another meta-analysis, but appearing in JAMA might help get the message out. "Twenty-five cohorts of 119,878 men (65,488 statin users [55%]) with more than 74,416 deaths were included. "Concurrent statin use was associated with a 27% reduction

statins
I tried to post this yesterday but can’t see it anywhere. Is there a statin that doesn’t have increased blood sugar as a side- effect? I’m on atorvastatin 80 and am told I’m pre- diabetic. So I’d like to change, if I still have to take the awful things.

Statin Use Is Associated with Better Prognosis of Patients with Prostate Cancer after Definite Therapies:
A new meta-analysis of statin use and prostate cancer-specific mortality [PCSM] and all-cause mortality [ACM], below [1]. The analysis included 24 studies with 369,206 individuals. It has been known for a century that solid tumors accumulate cholesterol. That may be reason enough to initiate statin

High Blood Pressure and prescribed medication
I was asked to monitor my blood pressure twice a day for 7 days and forward results to my GP Surgery. Unfortunately none of my readings were normal. I have now been contacted to arrange an ECG and Blood Test. I was told that a prescription would be available from my pharmacy, I said that I couldn’t take

Has anyone else stopped taking a daily statin?
Hi everyone, I'm wondering if I'm alone in deciding that I no longer wish to continue taking statins? I'm into my ninth week of recovery following Bypass Surgery. I'm extremely aware that compared to a lot of people who have found themselves in my situation I'm blessed. The only fly in the ointment

Alternative to Statins
It looks like there could be a new cholesterol lowering drug on the horizon. Don't hold your breath as it is probably years away. Happily statins do the trick for me. :) https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/new-oral-drug-may-become-alternative-to-statins-to-lower-cholesterol

How best to take Colestyramine (Cholestyramine) please?
Silly Question: Would anybody know or have experience of how best to take Colestyramine (Cholestyramine in USA) for bile acid issues? i.e. When to take is in relation to meals and snacks, including time after/before eating or whatever. The patient info leaflet (PIL) only gives the warning about other

Side effects of Bempedoic Acid
I have high cholesterol and reacted badly to 2 statins so was given ezetimibe a year ago. This hasn't reduced the cholesterol enough so now started on Bempedoic acid in addition. I read it might also help improve fatty liver, which I also have. Feel very bloated and tired after 2 doses. Does anyone have

newly diagnosed with high cholesterol
I’ve just decided to take statins after poor cholesterol results - 7.1 overall, ‘bad’ around 4, always been against them but worried lifestyle/diet changes not enough. Think might have famial type as mother always had very high levels despite healthy diet. but brother won’t get tested!

Statins and Prostate Cancer
Recently started low dose atorvastatin. I have seen journal articles showing it can make it worse, no affect and improve outcomes if started AFTER starting ADT. Opinions?

Am I imaging things?
Please feel free to say if you think I am imaging a problem that isn't there, I actually think my Doctors think I'm nuts. About 3 years ago I went to see the Dr because I was not my usual self, constantly tired, miserable, losing my hair and brain fog. I was told I was depressed and to take Vitamin
