Simvastatin
I haven’t got what has happened to you but I was pre diabetic and got it down from Hb1Ac 42 to 38 and my brother in law was diabetic and got it down to 42 in weeks. We did it by good food dieting and intermittent fasting. The book is called The Diabetes Code bu Dr Jason Fung. He explains why and how. Please read the book. Good luck.
If you believe you have become pre-diabetic due to taking one (or more) forms of medication you should go discuss this with your GP. No-one on here knows your detailed medical history unlike your GP. There may be other reasons you could have become pre-diabetic especially since, apparently, this is not a common side effect of taking a statin .
It is accepted that many statins will increase fasting glucose levels. If a person is already at risk of developing diabetes then this can be an issue. Studies have shown that some statins appear to be worse than others, here is one such study.

Might be worth a chat with your GP about the possibility of a different statin, an alternative to statins, or whether the risk of diabetes outweighs the supposed benefit of the medication.
You could take PCSK9 to lower cholesterol.
