Metabolic changes from prednisone
I have been on prednisone since July of 2021. Several failed attempts to taper but am presently at 3 mgs after changing diet dramatically. Had blood tests a month ago and cholesterol is one third higher than normal range. GP tells me that prednisone can cause metabolic changes by increasing blood

Looks Like My Cholesterol Is High, Yikes
I've spent the best part of the day at my local hospital today. I saw my GP as I'd been experiencing increasing shortness of breath over the last week or so and as I had pericarditis last summer I think they wanted to be sure it wasnt anything similar. So I got sent to the one stop shop aka SDEC, same

statin side effects
Hi all. After advice from the pharmacist I have stopped taking Rosuvastatin 10mg for a week as to see if my upper back pain would ease. I have been having pain, getting increasingly worse, since November last year. And guess what - my back pain has improved dramatically over the past week with no pain

statins and RLS
My doctor wants me to take statins but I am so afraid they will trigger RLS as mine are fairly well controlled at the moment. I think I read on here that there are alternatives to statins, but I have not been able to find any names. Can anyone help?

Statins and prednisolone
I have been on prednisolone for nearly two years, starting on 15 mg, now down to 6mg. Previously tapering at 0.5 mg every 6 weeks, more recently tapering at 0.5 mg at 8 week intervals. Now wondering whether to extend that interval further, after having had a bad flare. Following a recent diagnosis

Utterly confused.......
My BMI is 40, I have been doing the NHS Weight Management Second Nature programme and found it easy to follow, and the recipes delicious, and although I have only lost a few lbs, I didn't feel the need to snack or binge on anything. I learnt this morning that I have Type 2 diabetes and high cholesterol

TSH slowly creeping back up.
Iāve been here before (the forum) but lost all my logon details so Iāve re-registered. Iām hitting the usual brick wall with my GP, so Iāll try once more before I do something Iām unhappy about, but Iām getting desperate. Briefly, my TSH is slowly increasing. By which I mean that my most recent results

Statins - Thank You
I was prescribed Statins 18months ago. I did not get on with them but was told that you get used to them. I asked the Pharmacist about them and he said to take them with food, which I also tried. At the beginning of December 23, I was totally exhausted physically and mentally. Two weeks ago I saw someone

Test results
Hi everyone, I've received the following test results and have been advised to take statins. Do you think these results look like I could get my levels down with diet and exercise? My surgery obviously doesn't think so... Many thanks
