Back on the horse!
Good morning everyone, after months of very intermittent running/gym going , I’ve really done very little ( apart from reading everyone’s posts) I finally got back on that horse by starting again at week 3…. Seemed to go okay this morning but feel very sluggish. First time running since my BP medication

Amlodipine
I was taken off amlodipine some months ago and put on extra bisoprolol because I had swollen painful ankles. Later my cardiologist became concerned that.my dosage of bisoprolol was too high 7.5 mg and reduced it to 5. My blood pressure became high again and I was prescribed amlodipine again. This did

Could my new statins have upset the Apple cart?
I can see that this subject has been raised before but I’m feeling sorry for myself today and need the support of my forum friends and advisors. Just for a quick bit of background, I am six years into this PMR and struggling to taper below 7mg, maintaining 6.5mg but experiencing a lot of pain in my

Plaque reversal
I read that statins reverses arterial plaque. Is that true? I also saw that Berberine reverses plaque too: https://youtu.be/ZRArHoZueEI This all sounds pretty simply and would stop many heart attacks (assuming also diet and exercise)

Cholesterol rising?
Is rising cholesterol a natural consequence of aging? If it is then - given it is a natural consequence - statins seems to be the ONLY answer. Is that correct? I also read that statins can reverse arterial plaque - is that correct?

STATINS
Hi Can I please ask, if anybody takes a K2 vitamin and statins? I ask as i've been led to believe that K2 vitamin directly moves the calcium directly into the bones and not straight into the arteries. I've also read that if you take statins with this vitamin it stops it from doing this task??

Statins
I just finished watching - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0MSNUjQt0u0 I find it fascinating that doctors are aware that statins don't work on dialysis patients, even the KDIGO guidelines say not to prescribe them, and yet doctors still will go ahead and lower LDL using statins. I know I am on one .

Latest Bloods - Dr requested a review
An update after my last post in February. Dr put my Levo up by 25mcg, so I have been taking 125mcg per day since the beginning of March. Due to no appts, I’ve eventually got the bloods done that I requested through the GP. They’ve just texted me a routine appt for May, after the Dr has reviewed my results

As for brain fog and memory loss, don’t get me started on them 🤣 For years I have believed statins were toxic…… well, it turns out they are for me! 3 days of not taking them and I am returning to normal. i am now exploring

Which scan or test?
I'm writing on behalf of a friend. They had a stent nearly 10 years ago. Very overweight, on blood pressure medication, statins, aspirin and spray under the tongue. Just lately they've been getting a lot of chest pain, using spray more and unable to walk far without getting breathless. Blood pressure

statins
morning everyone, Recent blood tests show I have raised cholesterol and triglyceride serum levels. After discussion with the gp I agreed to give Atoravastatin a go. I am already on Xarelto, Nebivolol, Candesarten and gave verapamil as a pip (pharmacist said still ok to take it as a pip, contraindication

Statins - lowering blood cholesterol enhances the action of immune cells, thus slowing the growth of prostate cancer
Interesting article ccording to Cedars-sinai. Not sure if anyone has given some thought to this? https://www.cedars-sinai.edu/research/news/cedars-science/2022/statins-slow-growth-of-prostate-cancer.html
