Third attempt
Hi this is my third attempt at couchto5K and this time I’m determined to graduate. I’ve normally done it with a friend but she’s unable to do it at the moment due to a flare up in her rheumatoid arthritis so this time I’m on my own.

You can't get psoriasis round your eyes, says my doc.
I was told today by my doctor that I don't have psoriatic arthritis because you can't get psoriasis round your eyes. To quote. "in 25 years practice I've never seen psoriasis on the face'. He also said he'd never met a dermatologist who'd mentioned it either. He said it also always presents with scales

Curious
Hi everyone, hope all have had a good day. Just wondered if anyone has a similar query. I have pritty bad arthritis in several places also fibromyalgia. Was wondering if my joints and surrounding areas hold fluid around. I ask as my weight can vary from one day to the next by as much as 2/3lbs. 🤔

Not happy
I had a missed phone call from the hospital today, when I rang back it was a recorded message saying that Oxfordshire hospitals has tried to ring and will try again, I panicked because I had a mammogram yesterday, and they said they would ring if there was a problem, but my friend said why not ring rheumatology

Healthy foods
Hi I have recently been diagnosed with osteo arthritis at the age of 55. Does anyone have any good advice on what foods will benefit and what foods do not. I’m new to all this so I guess I need to start researching and get all the advise I need from others that are in my situation Thank you 😁

Low dose naltrexone
Hi, does anyone take LDN for Rheumatoid Arthritis? And if you do has it worked for you? I’m currently on sulphasalazine but thinking I might need to go on methotrexate as it’s not working that well. Just researching it as I’m fairly new to it all and LDN popped up as something that can be taken for RA

Sudden onset of osteoarthritis in all my fingers and toes (???!)
Hi everyone, A bit of (boring - sorry!) background: At the age of around 16 I went to the doctor complaining that my right wrist was painful. I couldn't put any weight on it without pain. The doctor I saw at the time didn't examine me and just told me to take ibuprofen. Over the years I continued to

I haven't posted for a long time but feel desperate.
I was diagnosed with GCA (Temporal
Arteritis
) in February 2017 and have been on a see-saw of medications ever since. I have a wonderfully supportive GP and see a rheumatology consultant regularly, every few months.

Vagus Nerve Stimulation in Rheumatoid Arthritis
I recently saw a news item on Sky News (from 2014) which showed a trial of Vagus Nerve Stimulation (VNS) that had proven very effective in the treatment of Rheumatoid Arthritis. I have looked on the web and contacted Dr Peter Tak who led the trial to see if there had been any developments - he said

To cap it all they do this image on Versus Arthritis
To all on here following Agedcrones fab comments- what drives me nuts is the image of the chap holding his hand up smiling. I SO wish I could do that with my hands and I am a tad younger!

Can I swap running for an exercise bike and get the same effects?
I have osteoarthritis and have gained weight from being unable to run like I used to. I want to follow the NHS guided workouts but they seem to focus on running. Would it have the same effect if I followed the timings but swapped an exercise bike for the run as this has less impact on my joints. Thanks

Is it possible to have both Osteo and Rheumatoid Arthritis??
I suffer from several autoimmune diseases - Hashimotos, PA, Lichen Sclerosus so assumed that my joint pain (really severe now) in my knees was RA. However, reading up on here and other arthritis sites, it is far more common for that to be osteoarthritis. I also have tenderness round my finger joints
