Is this possibly GCA again?

I was diagnosed with PMR 4four years ago and this was followed by Giant Cell Arteritis. I was given 60 mgs Prenisolone and gradually tapered down. Unfortunately I had a flare a few months later and I was not given appropriate advice and the sight in my left eye was damaged.

Polymyalgia since August.2021 Thank you so much for mentioning Kate Gilbert’s book—Polymyalgia Rheumatica and Giant Cell Arteritis: a survival guide. 2nd edition. I wish I had it at the beginning!

New to GCA

I'm newly diagnosed with temporal arteritis although I have my biopsy coming up this monday. Was started this week on 60 mg prednisone but today because of visual event raised it to 80 with instruction to go to hospital for IV if it happens again.

Temporal Artery Biopsy, just had mine and they couldn't find it, so they took a tissue sample from the site instead.

I think they said the arteritis might have obliterated it but not quite sure what that means.

I am new here: possible GCA

He saw licking on both eyes but didn't make a big deal plus he didn't know about the danger of temporal arteritis. I have had back stiffness for years and years and also around my neck so I always thought to see a chiropractor but it never goes away.

The amount of Jabs needed.

I have PV and Femoral Arteritis and so far have had two jab's of AZ, then given a Booster P vax, but after reading a post here it states Blood cancer patients should have 3 main jabs, then a booster as maybe we are less likely to have the benefit of full protection , I am confused as to why I haven't

Interesting study that appeared today on my laptop.

This popped up on my computer today ... maybe it s good to celebrate some weight gain. https://rheumatology.medicinematters.com/giant-cell-arteritis-/glucocorticoids/weight-gain-glucocorticoid-use-may-signal-disease-control/20040120?

Questions remain

I'm relaying this in the realization that the symptoms of temporal arteritis may also be indicative of sinus issues. I don't know that I will ever find out the cause of my symptoms, but the same treatment as that for temporal arteritis worked for me.

Is this diet book any good?

Following a low-fat, low-meat diet reduces your risk of developing giant cell arteritis – a serious complication of PMR. Changing your diet is a process – it’s difficult to radically change your diet overnight.

Just been diagnosed with Takayasu Arteritis and feeling very anxious

They decided to send me for a Pet CTscan which then gave the diagnosis of Takayasu Arteritis. My Aorta is inflamed and they have now given me Methotrexate to start, which I will be starting on Saturday.

Arthritis in pinky finger

I just met with a hand orthopedic dr. The top joint of my little finger has osteo arthritis. He told me that really the only thing to stop the pain is to fuse the joint. Has anyone done this and felt better or does it cause secondary problems?

Endocrinologist

I'm female, mid 50s and have osteoarthritis. I hope someone can answer a few queries. Is it normal to get severe flare ups with osteoarthritis or does that point to rheumatoid arthritis? Over the last 6 months, I've noticed that my body has been producing increased areas of bone e.g. right elbow and

Osteoarthritis and lupus

I was wondering if anyone here has been diagnosed with both? I have lower back pain, but never had any X-ray that shows any degenerative changes. My rheumatologist mentioned last Thursday (over a phone appointment) that he thinks it is osteoarthritis in my lower back. I have significant morning stiffness

Sudden onset arthritis or thyroid issue??

I wondered if anyone can advise me please, as I'm writing on behalf of my mum. My mum started with her left knee and leg swelling about a month and a half ago following an excruciating snapping sensation to that leg, around the same time both wrists started to become painful and stiff, this has now
