Hi there I have fibromyalgia and ostreo arthritis and I'm over weight. I know I need to exercise but I am very limited to what I can do, as I tire and pain kicks in quickly. Does anyone have any help , advice etc so I can start to lose weight and become a happier me. Many thanks

First up check with doc that you are ok to exercise. The benefit of c25k is it eases you gently into running and if you look through posts you'll see repeated again and again - go slow. Good luck if you decide to start, you'll get loads of encouragement here.

Firstly speak to your doctor about any exercise you would like to take on. Brisk walking would be a good start by going fast enough to get your heart rate up. Just speak to the doctor and let us know what he/she says. Good luck 😊

Welcome to the forum.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5... and explains the gentle progression. You will also find links in the guide to the Active10 walking programme and the NHS Strength and Flex exercise plan.

We have had several new runners with fibromyalgia over the years. I can't claim it has worked for all of them but many reported better pain control as a consequence.

Doing C25K wil not, by itself, make you lose significant weight, because the duration of running is not long enough, but many people have great success combining it with careful diet.

Enjoy your journey.

Hi. You can do this. I have graduated today. I repeated a few runs and some weeks my body would only allow 2 runs. My pain has decreased and my energy levels are higher. So from one fibro warrior to another I say go for it x
