Which DMARD?!
Hi everyone! I was given my RA diagnosis on Friday morning, and advised by the rheumatologist to look at the versus arthritis Website to decide whether I want methotrexate, sulphasalazine or leflunamide. I’ve googled beyond that, and spoken to a friend who has RA, and I just can’t decide!!! They

Anyone offered Remicade
Hi all, my rhumy wants me to get Remicade infusion to try to deal with my pain levels. He is frustrated (as am I) that nothing he's tried has dealt with it effectively, the last being lignocaine infusions which actually increased my pain levels. He has left my pred dose to me, as long as I stay under

Pfizer Pill
I received this news via the New York Times which, if true, will be helpful as we learn to live with this wretched disease. A Covid pill developed by Pfizer cuts the risk of hospitalisation or death in vulnerable adults by 89 per cent, according to a clinical trial carried out by the US company. Incidentally

Covid jab
I received a letter the other day about getting my “3rd jab”. It said it’s different to the booster one. The letter was from my rheumatology clinic. I didn’t even know there was a 3rd jab. It’s only got people with problems like arthritis it said. Anybody got the same?

Tablets v's injections
Having a chat with a friend of mine who has rheumatoid arthritis and receives injections of 120 mg steroids every 3 months with none of the side effects I'm getting with being years on steroids. She asked the question, why can't we get injections like her? I've never thought about that before. Any pearls

Prednisolone not just for PMR?
I am newly diagnosed with PMR after many years of thinking old age was treating me badly. I have felt like a stone statue when trying to get going after sitting. Reading the posts here I haven't experienced the same areas of pain as others but 15 mg prednisolone has worked unbelievably on my joints

Mosaicplasty or knock knees?
I have osteoarthritis in both knees, I was seen by a consultant two years ago who specialises in knee replacements. He thought I would benefit from high tibial osteotomy, then said he would refer me to a different consultant. I now have a clinic appointment in November, so just over two years or three

RA and Osteo
Hi folks. I have seropositive RA and osteoartitis in my spine and knee. I think there is almost a bit of illness snobbery about arthritis and we get annoyed when people with osteo think they understand what it’s like to have RA. I understand why and when I have a bad flare up, it is really really horrible

I am newly diagnosed (last night) after going for an appointment for osteoarthritis. I had a steroid injection in my bottom which seems to have improved the pain a bit. I have pain in my hips, legs , arms shoulders and back. I have had some blood tests and a pelvic X-ray. I am going for more blood
